Being right about life issues isn't enough.

Anyone can hold a sign, but what happens when someone you love doesn't agree with you? What happens when the conversation gets complicated by trauma, relationship, and real life? What happens when the right answer isn't the same thing as a helpful one?

Defending, Defending Life is a young adult connection event presented by HT Beyond and YA For Life. It's for those who want to do more than win arguments and those who want to be equipped to have conversations rooted in the Gospel and the value we each have in Christ.

Join us at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, October 23-25, 2026, for a weekend of worshiping, learning, and spending time together as we join under the cross of Christ to defend life. Open to young adults ages 18-30, registration is NOW OPEN!

Register before August 1st, to receive a $25 discount!

A Prayer for Dads

Dear Father in heaven,

Your great love for Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, has brought forth every human life as Your own precious treasure forever.

And though You reign exalted over all the universe, You come near to each of us in the blessing of a father.

Thank You that You have bound one such man also to me in an echo of Your own incarnation next to us in the flesh.

Thank You that my father protects me and provides for me at Your ordaining.

Thank You that he supplies me with shelter and security that teaches me about You.

Thank You that his diligence sustains me and his devotion consoles me with Your hand.

Thank You that his affirmation expresses Your unconditional acceptance.

Thank You that his counsel and his example support me and prepare me to do Your will.

I humbly implore You to enfold him this day and unto eternity in the same heavenly grace that he has shown me.

Establish him in peace and joy, knowing that His fatherly labors fulfill Your command and that You receive his service as a worship of You.

Let Your blessing rest especially with fathers in exceptional circumstances, including single fathers, adoptive and fostering fathers, fathers of large families, and fathers whose sons or daughters have extraordinary needs.

Grant special healing and hope also to our brothers who have endured fatherhood’s losses or sorrows and to the ones who have not known the delight of fatherhood.

As they have ensured our survival, give them all length of days, and in Your Son’s resurrection to everlasting life, gather them into the fellowship of their fathers and the great reward that awaits every one of us who follows in the faith they have maintained, sharing in Your everlasting gladness. Amen.

This prayer is from LifeDate Spring 2026.

A Life Quote for Sunday, July 26: “Even with all our sins, and even our rejection of Him, God is patiently loving us and calling us back to Him through the Holy Spirit. That’s your story, friends. Go out in your God-given identity as a king or a queen and a priest. Don’t go in fear and trembling, because when He calls you, He’ll be with you!” Diane Albers, President of Lutherans For Life

(Three Year Lectionary) A Life Thought in the Church Year for July 26 – Pentecost 9: God does not love us because of any quality in us, such as our age, physical ability, potential, wisdom, race, etc. (Deuteronomy 7:6-7). God chose to love us from His own good grace and mercy and gave all He had, His own dear Son, to purchase the world from sin and have us as His own possession (Matthew 13:44). In doing so, God reveals that every person—regardless of their age, size, or condition—is a precious treasure to Him and is worthy of our love and protection.

(One Year Lectionary) A Life Thought in the Church Year for July 26 – Trinity 8: The world tells us that we should follow our own hearts, changing or forsaking God’s Word about life and sexuality, and promising that it will be well with us when we do (Jeremiah 23:16-17). Beware of these false prophets who are ravenous wolves, seeking to draw you away from Christ (Matthew 7:15; Acts 20:30). Instead, as God’s children and heirs of His kingdom in Christ (Romans 8:17), pay attention to the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), and you will stand on level ground (Psalm 26:12).

Lutheran Youth to Attend Y4Life Conference in D.C.

We are anticipating over 500 youth, young adults, and adult chaperones at the 2027 Y4Life in Washington, D.C. conference. Participants will learn from leaders in the pro-life movement and voices for life from within the Lutheran church. Youth and leaders who attend will have opportunities to learn, experience for-life work, and network with other life-minded youth. High school and college youth will return to their schools and communities equipped and empowered to be Gospel-motivated voices for life.

As in years past, this conference will be held for FREE to all youth who attend. This is where YOU come in!

After the success of our “Keep D.C. Free” fundraising campaign last year, we’ve decided to bring it back with a new twist – a matching fund campaign!

Thanks to generous donors, we are able to match ALL donations up to $41,000! That’s right – every dollar you give becomes two!

We have set an ambitious goal of raising $82,000 by September 1. All funds raised will cover 2027 Y4Life in Washington, D.C. conference expenses, administrative fees, and additional programming for Y4Life.

Will you help us reach our goal of $82,000 to equip and empower these 4 LIFE voices? Click here to make your tax-deductible gift.
