PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: Machine Vision Filters

We recently attended the Vision Show in Boston. The Vision Shows is the most exciting and comprehensive place to learn about innovations in automated vision and imaging today. At the show, we had our SWIR Demo where we illustrated how adding optical filters to a vision system operating in the short wave infrared (SWIR) range enhances contrast for special applications for which SWIR cameras are required. Our system shows how fruit can be detected and identified among visually similar debris while on a moving platform, and that the inclusion of optical filters greatly improves the effectiveness of a vision system like this by enhancing the contrast between objects while outside of the visible range.

At 89North, our subsidiary company, we are honored that Julie Martin has been recognized by The Manufacturing Institute as an Honoree in their ninth annual STEP Ahead Awards, and will celebrate her achievements, along with other honorees, at an awards ceremony in Washington D.C. The STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) Ahead Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry.
