THE FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM (FSS)
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a voluntary program for households enrolled in the public housing, Housing Choice Voucher, or project-based Section 8 programs that helps them increase their earnings and build financial capability and assets.
The Escrow (Savings) Account:
When a participant’s rent increases due to an increase in earnings, the amount of the increase is placed in a savings account for the participant. A participant is eligible to receive all of the money in the account, plus interest when the FSS Contract is successfully completed.
