OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH:
Youth Basketball and Cheerleading Registration is Now Underway
Greensboro Parks and Recreation registration is now underway for youth basketball for children ages 5-16 and youth cheerleading for ages 5-13. Registration is $50 per participant. First-time participants should register in person at their neighborhood recreation center during normal business hours. Returning participants can register online.

Virtual Workforce Development Family Engagement Session
GCS’ Guilford Parent Academy and NCWorks — Guilford County collaborate to host a virtual series exploring various community resources to help you start a promising career future. During these sessions, attendees learn goal-setting strategies, ways to assess career interest and share information on in-demand fields in Guilford County.

OPPORTUNITIES FROM GHA:
THE FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM (FSS)
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a voluntary program for households enrolled in the Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, or Project-Based Section 8 programs that helps them increase their earnings and build financial capability and assets.

The Escrow (Savings) Account:
When a participant’s rent increases due to an increase in earnings, the amount of the increase is placed in a savings account for the participant. A participant is eligible to receive all of the money in the account, plus interest once the FSS Contract is complete.

Adult Basketball Registration Now Underway
The Greensboro Parks and Recreation adult basketball program creates a positive and competitive opportunity for men and women ages 18 and older to participate in fun activities to socialize, be active, and develop positive relationships with other members of the Greensboro Community.

Cone Health Mobile Medicine
The Cone Health Mobile Medicine Unit provides basic acute and primary care services, including patient education, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. All patients age 6 and older are welcome, including those using employer insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and the uninsured.
*No appointment is necessary, as patients will be seen in the order of their arrival.

Community COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics
Cone Health is offering a series of mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinics throughout our communities.


VACCINES ARE FREE. No ID Required. Appointments are strongly encouraged.

Please wear a mask, plan to remain socially distanced, and wear loose clothing.

What To Expect
  • Wait time of 15 minutes after vaccination or 30 minutes with prior history of vaccination reactions.
  • Common side effects: pain and swelling at the injection site, fever, chills, tiredness, and headaches
  • For Pfizer and Moderna clinics, you will receive an appointment date for your second shot

IMPORTANT: Pfizer clinics are for ages 12+. All other vaccine types are 18+.
