OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FROM PARTNERS:
WIC Program Updates

At this time, all WIC waivers have been extended in North Carolina until July 15, 2022. This means we are continuing to do the majority of our appointments by telephone until that time. The Food Package Waivers are still in place. Participants are able to purchase approved substitutions for Milk, Yogurt, and Whole Grains with their WIC benefits if their store is experiencing shortages of WIC-approved foods.

·    The value of the WIC Cash Value Benefit (dollar amount to purchase fruits and vegetables) has been temporarily increased until 3/31/22.

·    Effective January 3, 2022, the North Carolina (NC) WIC Program expanded their list of approved foods to include the following items.

·    Walmart is now allowing shoppers to use their eWIC card at self-checkout lanes. This is not an option at any other WIC vendors at this time.

The WIC website www.guilfordcountync.gov/wic has a new “Let’s Chat” option. This allows participants, potential participants, and community members to chat live with a WIC staff member during our normal business hours. You can also utilize the WIC website to make referrals to the WIC Program.
FREE At-Home COVID-19 Tests Available via Postal Service!
***Households can now order a second set of tests.***
