2024 - 2025 NC Pre-K Registration is Open!

Children eligible for the Pre-K program in 2024-2025 must be 4 years old on or before August 31st, 2024.

2024-2025 NC Pre-K Applications completed by the April 5, 2024, due date will be considered for:

Initial placement at a Guilford County School site

Head Start

Private Child Care

Join NCCJ (North Carolina for Community and Justice) will discuss Anytown and STARR (Students Talking About Race and Racism) youth programs taking place this summer (Anytown in June and July and STARR dates TBD).

Anytown and STARR prepare students to have difficult conversations, to go back into their communities and create safe spaces, and to challenge systems and policies in our communities previously seen as the status quo. 

These Open Houses are geared towards:

• Youth-serving organizations

• Parents/guardians of teens in Guilford County

• Students

• Educators

Family Self-Sufficiency Program

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a voluntary program for households enrolled in Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, and Project-Based Voucher programs to help them increase their earnings and build financial capability and assets.

UNCG Science is Everywhere

Everyone is invited to the UNCG Science Everywhere Festival on the UNCG campus. Admission and parking in the McIver Parking Deck are free. The Festival will have over 50 hands-on activities, music and music science, an electron microscope art display, an opportunity to visit research labs of federally-funded projects, the new nursing building, and the new esports arena, and much more.

Community COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics
Cone Health is offering a series of mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinics throughout our communities.

VACCINES ARE FREE. No ID Required. Appointments are strongly encouraged.

Please wear a mask, plan to remain socially distanced, and wear loose clothing.

What To Expect
  • Wait time of 15 minutes after vaccination or 30 minutes with prior history of vaccination reactions.
  • Common side effects: pain and swelling at the injection site, fever, chills, tiredness, and headaches
  • For Pfizer and Moderna clinics, you will receive an appointment date for your second shot

IMPORTANT: Pfizer clinics are for ages 12+. All other vaccine types are 18+.
