HOT TOPICS:

This competition is open to artists aged 16 and above who are residents of Guilford County. Artwork can be submitted beginning February 5, 2024.

The winner will receive a $3,500 stipend and gain exposure to thousands in our community.

Greensboro Urban Ministry (GUM) is encouraging artists to create an original, color design. Participants can upload images of their drawings or paintings to the GUM website by April 26, 2024.

Designs submitted should be a general holiday or winter-themed scene that should appeal to anyone regardless of faith or ethnicity. The winning design and artist will be announced in June 2024.

OPPORTUNITIES FROM GHA:

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a voluntary program for households enrolled in Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, and Project-Based Voucher programs to help them increase their earnings and build financial capability and assets.

***GHA residents pay a $27.00 registration fee and can attend for free. You must fill out the membership application and submit a copy of your lease.***

Non-GHA residents (14 and up) attend for $10/month after the $27 registration fee.

Get My Future is a specialized website for people, ages 14-24. The site provides tools and information to explore career ideas, gain insight into their work values/interests, and find local job assistance.

Shift_ed serves all 28 high schools in Guilford County Schools with supports that help students discover the opportunities waiting for them after graduation – and take the steps to achieve their goals.

Youth ages 13-17 are invited to come and roll with us every Third Thursday through March! We'll have skating, fun music, and snacks. There will be a limited number of roller skates available to borrow. This event is free and no registration is required.
