2021 WHAT HOME MEANS TO ME ART CONTEST
Create a poster of what home means to you, and you could WIN!!!
Contest Rules:
- For K-12th Grade Students living in a GHA Community or a Voucher Recipient
- Write a story about what home means to you
- Draw and decorate your poster
- Get entry form signed by parent
- Poster size must be 22x28
- Awards and prizes will be given out!

DSS Income Maintenance Caseworker
Learn the skills you need to be a better candidate for employment at your local Department of Social Services (DSS)!
North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) is a program designed to improve the way the NC Department of Health and Human Services and county departments of social services do business. NC FAST introduces new technological tools and business processes that will enable workers to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time assisting families.
This NCFast class certificate is a preferred qualification for the DSS income maintenance caseworker jobs available in Guilford and surrounding counties. However, in order to be selected as a potential candidate, individuals must meet one of the minimum qualifications listed in the job postings:
- Graduation from high school or equivalency and four years of the below-stated experience.
OR
- Associates degree and two years experience in clerical or other public contact experience which includes negotiating, interviewing, explaining and gathering information, gathering and compiling data, analysis of data, and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks.
OR
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.

City of Greensboro Accepting Applications for ERAP Rent/Utility Assistance
Has your household been financially affected by COVID-19? Need help paying the rent and/or utilities? If so, funds the City has received -- nearly $9 million from the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) established by the US Congress in December -- could help.
Qualified households renting within Greensboro city limits may now apply for up to 12 months combined (past due plus currently due plus future) emergency rent and/or utility payment assistance per household. Assistance goes directly to landlords and utility companies, and does not have to be repaid.

Out Of The Garden Fresh Mobile Market
OOTGP Fresh Mobile Markets are mobile food pantries that distribute fresh produce, bread, meat, and shelf-stable items monthly. Families can expect to leave the Fresh Mobile Market with at least 65 pounds of food. Totally free.
Every first Thursday of the month from noon to 2 p.m. OOTGP will be at Western Guilford Middle School.
