"The Baptism of our Lord"
This Sunday's readings hint that our initiation as followers of Christ has two parts. First, a baptism with water and, later, a baptism with the Holy Spirit. Most of us have been baptized with water in the name of Lord Jesus but what is this Baptism of the Holy Spirit spoken of in scripture? What does it look like? And how might it change our lives?

Sunday School
New Year's resolution ... get to church :) Back to Sunday School this week and for the remainder of January. Reminder, Sunday School starts at 9:45 so the teachers have time to get in the lesson, reflection/craft and praying.
This week we are talking Baptism so some of our favorite lessons :)

Family Church
WOW! I LOVED Family Church this week! We actually had a visit from the three Magi and it was GREAT!
Not to mention, the readers, Nadira Khan, Jonathan Spell, Sophia Khan & Amanda Luke were excellent. Our elements were carried very carefully, despite a shoe malfunction, by Alexandra Hunkele and Lyla Khan. Our ushers, Frankie Hunkele, Samantha Vitiello and Charlie Cutting were so helpful and Frankie was the only one actually scheduled to usher--thanks for last minute assistance, Samantha & Charlie!
Our next Family Church will be February 10th so mark your calendars and if your child(ren) would like to help let me know.
Peace,

Christine's Kitchen
The cold weather is here and our friends at Christine's Kitchen are in need of a hot meal. On Saturday, January 19th, we'll be serving lunch to 60-80 men, women, and children. Please consider donating food or volunteering 1-2 hours of your time to help make this meal a delicious one!
If you'd like to donate food items, look for the sign-up sheet at the back of the church on Sunday, January 13th or contact Jennifer Vonderahe at
[email protected].
Dinner rolls, bananas, large bottles of juice, and desserts are a few of the food items our hungry friends enjoy.
Thank you for your consideration!

Planning for the Future, Part II
Five Wishes Program offered January 20
|
PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
PART II
On Sunday, January 20
th after the 10 AM service, the St. Peter's
Health and Healing Ministry will present the second part of our planning for the future with The Five Wishes.
- The Person I Want To Make Care Decisions for Me When I Can't
- The Kind of Medical Treatment I Want or Don't Want
- How Comfortable I Want to Be
- How I Want People to Treat Me
- What I Want My Loved Ones to Know
There are many things in life that are out of our hands. The Five Wishes document which will be provided at this workshop gives you a way to control something very important--how you are treated if you get seriously ill. It is an easy-to-complete form that lets you say exactly what you want. Once it is filled out and properly signed, it is valid under the laws of most states.
Please come to plan for your future in the undercroft after the 10 am service. Any questions, please call or email Rev. Susan Negrotto (201-637-2962, [email protected])

Celebrate Our 125th Anniversary with
St. Peter's Memorabilia!
|
Each week after the 10 AM Sunday church service, we will be selling our awesome 125th Saint Peter's memorabilia that would make a perfect gift for someone at Christmas time, birthday, wedding, celebration, friendship, or ...
just because you love them!
We have post cards, Christmas cards, note cards, small and large coffee mugs, tiles, and ... a wonderful set of 4 coasters! We also have some of our old coins, cookbooks, and special Mother Stephanie ornaments.
Come see us as we will have the items on display and for sale after each Sunday 10 AM service. We will either be at the back of the church OR at the coffee hour.
Of course if you cannot make it to either, but want something, please call me at 973-632-1884 or
send me an email.
Happy 125th Anniversary to all of us!
