"On Becoming Real: The Mature Christian Life"

Maturity may not be like anything you expected. But you can be sure it will involve having most of your hair loved off, your eyes dropping out, and getting loose in the joints and very shabby. Becoming REAL is the price we pay to love and be loved, to be engaged in the world, to say no to injustice and intolerance and to say yes to our common, shared humanity.

Planning for the Future, Part II
Five Wishes Program offered February 3

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
PART II
RESCHEDULED!

On Sunday, February 3rd  after the 10 AM service, the St. Peter's  Health and Healing Ministry will present the second part of our planning for the future with The Five Wishes.

  • The Person I Want To Make Care Decisions for Me When I Can't
  • The Kind of Medical Treatment I Want or Don't Want
  • How Comfortable I Want to Be
  • How I Want People to Treat Me
  • What I Want My Loved Ones to Know
There are many things in life that are out of our hands. The Five Wishes document which will be provided at this workshop gives you a way to control something very important--how you are treated if you get seriously ill. It is an easy-to-complete form that lets you say exactly what you want. Once it is filled out and properly signed, it is valid under the laws of most states.

Please come to plan for your future in the undercroft after the 10 am service.  Any questions, please call or email Rev. Susan Negrotto (201-637-2962, [email protected])

Littlest Parishioners PlayDate, February 2

Saturday, February 2nd, 9:30-11:30

Too cold to play outside, but we still need to get our wiggles out! It's time again for our Littlest Parishioners' Playgroup!

Playgroup is for those with children age 3 and under and takes place on the first Saturday of each month. Older siblings are welcome. We will meet in the upper room unless we happen to get a lovely warm sunny day then we'll shift to the playground. Please join us and feel free to bring others you think might be interested.

Our March date will be March 2nd if you'd like to mark your calendars. If you have questions please contact Nat Bernardo via email at  [email protected]  or Dana Leach, 973-364-7544 or  [email protected]

Sunday School & Family Church

Sunday School
This Sunday we have some great lessons prepared for Sunday School! Such a special group of children and I am always excited and amazed by all they are taking in! We had a conversation on Sunday about the flow of our Godly Play classrooms and where the stories they hear in Sunday School are located in the bible. So many of them are really understanding AND even those that aren't quite there yet in some ways are ASKING questions! I'm so proud of our children!

Sunday School begins at 9:45.  Feel free to reach out if you have questions. I will need greeters for unit 3 beginning in March :)

Family Church
Make sure you mark your calendars and come to Family Church on February 10th!

Thank You to Our Confirmation Class!

CHRISTINE'S KITCHEN

Thank you to the Confirmation Class for their outstanding work at Christine's Kitchen on Saturday, January 19th. They served around 80 men, women, and children and wrapped up leftovers for many to have a second meal.

Another great big thank you to those who donated time to shop, cook, and deliver the food.  These meals would not be possible without your kind and generous support. Whether it was plates for food, butter for dinner rolls, homemade brownies or Shepherd's Pie, each and every donation made a difference.  Thank you!

Save the date for our next visit to Christine's Kitchen on Saturday, April 6th.

If you'd like more information about volunteering or donating, please don't hesitate to contact Jennifer Vonderahe at  [email protected] or 773-575-2325.
