A Message from Our Interim Rector

"The Test of Hard Decisions"

"Life is difficult," says author Scott Peck in  The Road Less Traveled. Better to say "difficult moments arise in life," and Scripture presents many stories that mirror the times when we must make hard decisions.

How will we deal with a real enemy? When should we speak up about a loved one's harmful behavior? Is this the moment to give up some cherished item or activity that stands the way of some important service to the Good?
Summer Sermons: "Following Christ"

SUMMER SERMONS EXPLORE
"FOLLOWING CHRIST"

The Advent-Pentecost Gospels inspire us with Christ's example. The summer Gospels focus on the day-to-day teachings of Jesus, showing us how Christ invited his followers into his Way. Our summer sermons will highlight ways we can follow the Way of Christ more deeply.

Summer Refreshments in the Courtyard
  lemonade_lemons.jpg

During the Summer months, worshippers can enjoy cold tea and lemonade and sweets in the Courtyard. We need a few more volunteers to provide simple fare for some Sundays, so be sure to look for the sign-up sheet on the Refreshment table.

Help us help make Saint Peter's
a welcoming space for all!
VBS Registration Almost Full!

We will hold HERO CENTRAL VBS
August 7-11!

Thanks to those who came to our craft and decorating night this week. Our next volunteer opportunity is coming up in July!

Volunteers are needed during the week of VBS! Please reply to this email if you have one or more days to help our superheroes take flight.

Registration is filling up quickly, just a few slots left! If you would like to have your child join us, please fill out the registration form and return it to the church office by July 1.
St. Peter's Search Process Moves Ahead

The call has gone out through the posting of our Parish Profile with the Diocese, inviting prospective candidates for our new full-time priest position to send us their resume. The Search Committee will meet monthly through the summer and hopes to begin the initial round of interviews in the early Fall, and issue a call before year's end.

Please hold the committee in your prayers as they sift through resumes, conduct interviews and select candidates to present to the Vestry for decision.

Summer Schedule

Sunday  9 am  Wee Believers and our
Wednesday  Noon  Healing Eucharist
will return in September.

Welcome Pam Bayard to the Vestry

Congratulations, Pam Bayard! Pam, who was chosen as our Alternate, has been unanimously elected to complete the term of Caroline Medina on Saint Peter's Vestry.

Caroline Medina continues to recuperate and will be moving to live closer to her family.

The position of Alternate on the Vestry is an important one for just such instances, and is now vacant. Please call upon God's spirit to help you discern if you are being called to serve on the Vestry.
Sunday School

Although  Sunday School & Family Church will be on break for the summer, children are ALWAYS welcome in "big" church so I hope to see you all during the summer! Please consider helping with these important ministries next year.  If you have any questions reach out, I'd love to talk to you!

With Faith & Love,
Dana Leach

Nursery Care
Nursery Care will continue to be available for children 3 and younger through the end of June, then will take a break for July and August.  Michelle & Ann will be back again after Labor Day to care for our littlest parishioners. The little ones are always welcome in "big" church, however :)

With Faith & Love,
Dana Leach
Ornament of Lost Coin Window

A replica of the window dedicated to Mother Stephanie will be available on a Christmas ornament, and proceeds will be divided between the parish and a purse for Mother Stephanie.

If you are interested in ordering one, please contact Pam Au.
Please Help Our Local Food Pantry

The need is great, your donation makes a difference!!

The next time you are shopping, please simply buy a double for one or two of your regular items. That's it! Don't worry about whether it's "this month's" item, it doesn't even need to be edible (a little bit of mascara could be a real treat for someone!). Please just bring an item or two each week when you can, and think of what a difference it will make!

Thank you for your generosity!
