Commitment 2027

Thank you to all who have made their commitments for next year. As we come to the end of October, we have received 318 pledges (53% of our participation goal) for a total of $2,909,135 (66% of our anticipated pledge revenue for 2027). Our ministry committees will submit their budget requests this week, and our Session will review a draft budget in November. If you have not made your pledge, please do so as soon as possible so that we can budget accurately for 2027.

Each Sunday during commitment season, members of Trinity talk in worship about what Trinity means to them and how important commitment is. If you would like to view past Moments of Commitment, please use the links below.

Creation Care Tip

By Craig Pendergrast

Noise, noise, and more noise: the roar (and fumes) of gas-powered leaf blowers interrupts our conversations and mars our peaceful time in our yards and on neighborhood walks. But it doesn't have to be that way. Battery-powered leaf-blowers are much quieter, produce no fumes, and are readily-available at cost and power comparable to gas-powered blowers.

Our friends in the Ansley Park Civic Association have published a list of lawn service companies in Atlanta that use battery-powered blowers at competitive cost. Please see this link for that list, Ansley Park Civic Assoc (APCA) & Security Patrol - Leaf Blowers, and an interview with Trinity member Chris Sawyer about his switch to a company using battery-powered blowers.

What small daily actions have you chosen to make a positive impact on our earth? Please share them with us at lucyscrosswell@gmail.com.

In early 2027, Trinity will launch The Gathering Place—a ministry that will provide support and fellowship for adults experiencing memory loss and respite for caregivers. The ministry will rely on volunteers, who can serve as companions to participants, plan or lead activities, and assist with a number of tasks. If you would like to volunteer or learn more, please use the links below.

The Devil in the Bible

Talk about the devil in church seems to lack decorum. And yet, the Scriptures have a lot to say about deception, temptation, and evil in the world. This week, Eric McDonnell explores the varied interpretations of evil in the Bible and the emerging portrait of God's adversary in the New Testament. We'll also tackle the question: What does any of this mean for the community of faith today?

The Devil in Art
