Transition Team Update
Marcia Kelly, [email protected]

The transition team continues to meet weekly with Patrick. We have signed an employment contract, it has been approved by presbytery, and we will be welcoming our temporary associate pastor David Carter Florence this Sunday during both services. The team has communicated with Session concerning the next step which is to write a mission study. We are looking for 3-5 members of the congregation to make up a design team to begin this process. If you know someone who is called to this very important work, please email Marcia Kelly at [email protected].

Thank you letter from Society of St. Vincent dePaul

During this year's egg hunt, we collected various items as a mission gift for the prison ministry. We have received this letter thanking us all for the donations:

We wish to thank you and your parishioners for the very generous gift of personal items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, etc.) One hundred and thirteen ex-convicts, men and women, were assisted last calendar year.

Your gift allows us to help these clients re-enter Society in a Christian way. Again, thanks for your meaningful, thoughtful assistance.

Sincerely in Christ,
Paul J. Collins, Chairman, Prison Ministry

Support for Kristen

Kristen Reisor will be graduating from the University of Delaware in May and will spend the next year working in New Orleans as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV). This is a branch of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). She will be living in a house with 7 other YAV volunteers, and will receive a monthly stipend to cover rent, transportation, and food. With volunteer work comes fundraising. Her goal is to raise $4,000 before her start date at the beginning of September. However, that is about 10% of her costs as a Young Adult Volunteer. Anything raised above $4,000 will be used to support Kristen throughout her YAV year. If you would like to make a donation, you can send checks made out to: Presbytery of South Louisiana (please put the name Kristen Reisor on the memo line). Mail to: NOLA YAV, PO Box 8666, New Orleans, LA, 70182.

Red Clay Tips
The community's space for sharing helpful information about life at RCCPC.

Ink Cartridge Recycling: Red Clay participates in the Staples Rewards  program.  For each used ink cartridge or toner  cartridge, Red Clay receives a $2 credit on future purchases.  We are permitted to turn in 20  cartridges per month which is a credit of $45 per month. All of our office supplies, including bulletin paper, ink cartridges, Sunday School supplies, etc. are purchased from Staples.  Every donated used cartridge helps reduce our office supply costs. Please bring used cartridges to the Church Office or place them in the labeled box in Founders Hall.

Zingo's Receipts: When you shop at Zingos, keep your receipt and drop it off at the red can on the cookie table in Founders Hall. With your receipt, Zingos will donate 1% toward our kitchen fund.

Cemetery Parking.   Sometimes parked cars cause damage to the turf along the driveways in the Cemetery.  The Cemetery Board asks that cars not be parked or driven on the grass beside graves.  Also, please refrain from parking on the grass when the ground is soft from rain.

Medical Equipment Closet.  Our congregation has medical equipment available for loan including walkers, canes, crutches, commodes, shower seats, wheelchairs etc. Always open to donations, too. To donate or borrow, call Valerie Kratunis at 302.239.7954.

Chancel Flower Dedications. Occasions to give flowers may include: anniversary, baptism, birth, birthday, graduation, holiday, promotion, retirement, sympathy, wedding.  Order forms for Chancel Flowers are available in the narthex and the Church Office. Dates are determined on a first come, first serve basis. Cost is $45.

Pastoral Care.   To be visited in  the  hospital, notify  the  hospital of your association with Red Clay. To be added to  the  Prayer List, contact one of  the  Pastors or  the  Church Office.

Red Rose Buds.  You can c elebrate a special birth in your family by placing a Red Rose Bud on  the  communion table.  Contact  the  Church Office to make  the  arrangements.  Cost is $15.

Prayer List. Please continue to update us on joyful recoveries or of times that a person needs continued prayers lifted up to our  Loving God.  Email Julie at office@rccpc.org to update the status of your loved one.

Do you have a tip to share?  Help us grow the list.  Send your simple notice (no more than 60 words) to [email protected].
