A note from Deacon Johnine
Dear Ones,

On Friday, May 19, 2023, Joyce Hunsberger and I under the driving expertise of Doug Eschbach joined others from Generations, a Senior Citizen group and ate the most delicious pizza and had an inspiring discussion with the men who own and work at Down North, a pizza restaurant in Philadelphia.

The restaurant employees are formerly incarcerated men. It was a tremendous testament to changing and growing and being a shining light to the world.

A plastic container has been placed in the Narthex to gather food items for the 220 children who are at home this summer. These children normally are given breakfast and lunch at school, so your donations will ensure these little ones will get nutritious food during the summer months. Thank you very much for your generosity.

I respectfully ask you to not put items in my office, which you no longer want or need because I then have to take it to Care and Share or Goodwill to donate your items. I will always let you know if I am collecting certain items for those in the community who are in need. Thank you for your attention to this situation.
On Sunday, June 4th, the Transition Prayer group will meet in the chapel in the new building after the 8am service, around 9:10am. The prayer gathering will last about 20 minutes. All are welcome to attend. I will introduce different ways we can pray, either spoken out loud or silently.

The next Transition Prayer Gathering will take place on the 3rd Sunday of the month (June 18, at 4:30 pm online via Zoom). (Click here for the Zoom link) The transition prayer can also be found here at our website.

It will be a holy time for all as we GATHER TOGETHER AND PRAY!!!! It will be a clear visual of God working through us during this time of transition. Thank you for your consideration in coming.

Keystone Opportunity Center is asking for our involvement in the following event:
Last month, our food pantry served families that included over 220 kids. That is 43% more than this time last year! To help meet the needs of our pantry families, we will need many kid-friendly food items between June and August. We will have a large box labeled in the Narthex, in which you can place any of the items you can donate to this most worthwhile endeavor.

Here is a list of the desired items:
  • peanut butter and jelly
  • pudding or fruit cup packs
  • applesauce, 6 pack
  • ready to eat chicken or tuna salad kits
  • hormel ready to eat meals
  • package of goldfish or microwavable popcorn
  • macaroni and cheese, microwavable, 4 pack
  • juice boxes ( 6 or 8 pack)
  • breakfast cereal (low sugar)
  • 2 cans of spaghettios with meatballs
  • 1 box of granola bars, fruit snacks, or peanut butter crackers

Thank you for guaranteeing that everyone has a fun filled, healthy summer and
thank you so much for your faithfulness!!!!
