Northwest Indiana Real Estate Market Update
The Northwest Indiana housing market is heading into spring with momentum, showing signs of both growth and opportunity. According to the Indiana Association of REALTORS® (IAR), March 2025 brought notable shifts across Jasper, Lake, LaPorte, Newton, Porter, Pulaski, and Starke counties.
Key Market Highlights

Closed Sales: 671 homes sold in March, a 2% decrease year-over-year

New Listings: 1,010 properties hit the market—up 17% from March 2024

Pending Contracts: 940 homes went under contract, rising 12% year-over-year

Inventory Levels: Average daily inventory grew 15% year-over-year to 1,894 homes

Median Sale Price: Prices increased 4% to $245,500

Median Days on Market: Homes went under contract in just 16 days, up from 12 last year

Months of Inventory: Supply rose to 2.8 months, an 18% increase

Sale-to-List Price Ratio: Homes sold for 94.5% of asking price, down slightly from 95.5% in 2024
