R E-ENROLLMENT REMINDER
The re-enrollment season is near ending and we have been accepting  students across all schools to begin their journey at Valley Christian!  If you haven't finalized your re-enrollment decision, please contact Holly Johnson at 925-560-6256 or hjohnson@valleychristianschools.org. We'd love to help you by answering any questions you may have for the 2017-18 school year.  First payments for the new tuition year are due June 1.  An email from Accounting has been sent to your email address with information on the new process through Veracross.

End of year housekeeping!

As we prepare for the last week of school:
  • Remind your students to check the lost and found for clothes and lunch boxes
  • Bring a paper bag during the last week of school for your student to clear out their desks and lockers
  • After Middle and High school students clean out their locker, remind them to bring their lock home so they can reuse it in the fall!
TIP:  have them write down their combination and take a photo of it - a good reminder after the lazy days of summer!
Lunch Accounts Paid in full
If your student has a negative lunch account balance, please send in payment to the school offices by the last day of school - May 26th.

Open House review from Tuesday, May 16

Tuesday night there was a buzz about the evening as enthusiastic and excited students became escorts who walked their parents through the experiments of their science lab, the nutrition lessons in physical education, and reviewing the academic projects and presentations in the classroom.

Families were able to learn more about our biblical coursework, world literature, and algebraic equations! Our two  new PTF co-presidents Kelly and Amy were introduced, along with the revealing of our new Tommy Hilfiger uniforms. Look for more information in June on uniform ordering!

TK-4th Grade Field Day review from Wednesday, May 17
Our kids couldn't really pinpoint the best part since there were so many exciting games and activities.  A few favorites included:  jumpy houses, petting zoo, face painting, cookie walk, dunk tank (our own teachers and 3rd/4th graders), zoo animals to find on the play yard, and games to play to win prizes.   Students also enjoyed cotton candy, popcorn and ice cream at the end of the day. Thanks to the many parents who volunteered their time decorating, setting up, and running many of our booths, it was a very successful day!!
5th Grade Trip to Little Hills Ranch review from Wednesday, May 17
The fifth graders had their end-of-the-year celebration at The Ranch at Little Hills in San Ramon - this marks a milestone in their life as they end their Elementary School years!  Middle School years, here we come!

CHOPPED! review from May 17
Marine Biology class competed in the 3rd annual Chopped Mystery Seafood Competition!  This concludes our studies of marine ecosystems, marine life, and the sustainable use of seafood and other marine resources.  Seven teams raced against the clock to prepare delicious meals once the mystery seafood resource was revealed.  This year it was 1.5 lbs. of shrimp per team! They served up beautiful dishes inspired from many places of the world.

Superintendent Dr. Chen, Dean of Academics Mrs. Bruggeman, and Alumnus Easton Charles Schwaegerle served as our esteemed judges!

The winning team members were Ari de Vries, Skyler Gallarzan, and Jon Kim.  These students impressed the judges with their presentation of shrimp tacos and spicy mango salsa.  The winning team members were honored for their cooking prowess and each received a gift card to Amakara Sushi Restaurant of Dublin.    It was truly awesome to see your teamwork, determination, creativity, and culinary skills!
Cook On!
