ELL Children's Storybook
Our MS/HS ELL students completed finals week with visits to our elementary classrooms. This culminating class project required ELL students to write a children's storybook while employing grammar rules, writing strategies, and themes such as overcoming fear, resolving conflict, and honoring friendship. Colorful illustrations were additionally included in these 2' X 4' poster books specifically designed for little hearts and minds. Our ELL students had never written a children's storybook, nor had they read to a group of children. Their written reflections revealed an educational process that was considerate of their academic and personal growth.
