Post Juneteenth Greetings,
This Sunday I am excited to continue teaching on the series entitled “You Are Enough.” The series focuses on the work of God through a man named Gideon, but moreso, how God uses us all to perform His will. Gideon may be looked at—from a Biblical standpoint—as one of the heroes of scripture, where in fact he was a simple man called to live by faith just like you and I.
In this week’s message, we take a deep look into Gideon’s psyche. That is, how does anyone who is called and commissioned by God, doubt their abilities after God has both commissioned and then promised them success. What is it in us—to extend this question—that makes us hesitant or even unwilling to step out on the garment of faith and perform a work that will not only honor God, but bless God’s people? Because God has a purpose and plan for each of us, a question that Sunday’s message asks this; are we engaged in God’s work or are we stuck in idle?
Someone once wrote that this world can never be its best until I show up. That’s what we look to address this Sunday; what’s keeping us from our appointed duty? In preparation, once again please read the 6th chapter of Judges. Further, for our virtual worshippers, please have you communion elements ready for the service.
