Blessings,
After scripture, prayer, and meditation, that which can express the near inexpressible emotions of the heart, is music. Music is a comforter. Music, along with spirit-filled lyrics, has the ability of ministering to hurts that cannot be expressed by mere words. Thank God for the gift of music, because in times of difficulty, fear, and sorrow, music is the comforting power that helps keep us from falling completely apart.
Music is a sacred instrument of God used throughout scripture, as most notably evidenced throughout the various Psalms. In many ways God employs music along with lyrics to minister to the blessings of God as well as the ambiguities of life that we encounter. In fact, when you think of Gospel or Sacred music, what are the songs that have fed your soul as well as helped to strengthen you in times of distress?
This Sunday, I want to teach and preach from the Book of Isaiah, and share an oracle that is found in the forty-third (43) Chapter. Please take the time to study this chapter, as it is filled with God’s spoken word that becomes the melody of our heart.
See you on Sunday,
Bishop Mark W. Thompson, DMin. MDiv.
