Blessings Family,

This Sunday we continue with the sermon series entitled “This Is How WE Do It,” as found in Romans 12:1-9. This series of messages centers on our individual responsibilities as leaders and the voices of Spiritual truth as members of the Body of Christ. In the first two messages, Paul shares that we cannot be conformed to the dictates of society, culture or politics wherever they are in conflict with the will of God. As shared in that message, we are not conformists, we must be nonconformists. Further, that our calling as Disciples of Jesus by necessity, goes far beyond a Sunday morning worship. In fact, true worship involves how we serve God on a daily basis. By serving, the text questions whether or not we are doing our individual work in Kingdom Building as our form of worship.

Part three of the series takes a turn, as it involves dissecting, understanding and giving new meaning to the term salvation. As Dr. Lewis Brogdon shares: “Salvation is God’s response to fallen people in a fallen world with the life and work of Jesus Christ. It is responding to the problem of human sinfulness, both individual and communal.” What’s so interesting about the definition provided, is how those who are “saved,” play a key role in the salvific work of God; that’s what we will talk about on Sunday.

I pray to see you this Sunday as this most necessary lesson will be shared. For those who will join us virtually, this will be a WORD that you won’t want to miss.

Peace,

Bishop Dr. Mark W. Thompson, Senior Pastor

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

"The Georgia Department of Labor is committed to supporting every worker affected by the federal government shutdown," said Georgia Labor Commissioner Bárbara Rivera Holmes. "Millions of workers across industries - from manufacturing to healthcare - depend on stable government funding to keep paychecks coming and operations running. A lapse in funding threatens not only livelihoods, but also the momentum of our economic recovery. Protecting jobs means protecting families, communities, and the future of our nation. The time to act is now."

Federal employees who have been furloughed may be eligible to apply for unemployment insurance benefits. Claims can be filed online at https://dol.georgia.gov through the MyUI Claimant Portal or in person at one of GDOL's 34 career centers statewide. To make information easier to access, GDOL has set up a dedicated webpage where federal workers can find up-to-date guidance and resources - all in one place.

For information on unemployment insurance for federal employees, view Unemployment Claims for Federal Employees. Contact Georgia Department of Labor Communications Office
