Blessings Dear Family,
Although each of us wants to hear a Word from the LORD that lifts, encourages, helps and heals issues we are facing, or simply a Word that inspires us to get through the day, sometimes what God will say will be discomforting. As one writer said: “If we only desire God’s comforting messages, we may miss what we really need.”
There are those times, because of the overwhelming love of God, that a Word will be given from the LORD that strikes fear within. That Word may convict us, it may even tell us that God is denying our request or our prayer. However, when that type of message is given, there are several things we must remember. First, God’s abiding love is the reason for a stern Word from the LORD. Second, God’s Word or God’s message is purposed to correct some thoughts, paths or decisions that we are considering or have already made. But finally—because all things do work together for those who love the LORD—God’s message will lead you to a closer relationship with God, as well as prepare you for Spiritual increase.
This Sunday, we will hear what God speaks through the Prophet Micah to those whom God loved enough to correct and save them from themselves. In preparation, please study Micah 2:1-11.
May the Peace of our LORD and Savior, Jesus the Christ bless you,
Peace,
Pastor Mark W. Thompson
