to Pauli Tice, our beloved, longtime Volunteer Director who will be retiring on May 20th. Pauli's dedication to LifeCare Alliance and its mission has inspired tens of thousands of volunteers to get involved over the years - and we are forever grateful for the program she has built. Her legacy will continue each day, as we help inspire our community to serve those most in need.
We hope to celebrate with many of you later this year, pending pandemic precautions and rescheduled Volunteer Recognition events. However, please take a look at the socially distant ways to give Pauli a special send-off into the next chapter of retirement!

Program Spotlight: Columbus Cancer Clinic stands ready to serve amidst COVID-19
|

The scenario Michelle describes is a familiar one for the Columbus Cancer Clinic team...a woman discovers a lump in her breast. Immediately, she schedules an appointment. Having gone over 4 years without a mammogram, she would require a clinical breast exam to better determine next steps. Add to this the added pressure of financial hardship, other health concerns, and a global pandemic - and yet, this patient could not afford to wait until the threat of COVID-19 has subsided to mitigate the potential risk of a cancer diagnosis.
Thankfully, the Columbus Cancer Clinic exists for stories - and people - like this. Our dedicated nurse practitioner was able to see this patient, recommend a diagnostic mammogram, and arrange an ultrasound immediately following the appointment. This is a day in the life of the Columbus Cancer Clinic.

- Deliver frozen meals on the weekends! Frozen meal routes are more flexible, and you can choose to deliver in a location most convenient for you!

Each year, LifeCare Alliance partners with the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging to improve local seniors' access to fresh, local produce. In light of COVID-19, the 2020 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will distribute fresh produce bundles instead of the usual $50 worth of vouchers to local farmers markets and roadside stands. We recently partnered with
Feed the Children to
distribute MORE food and hygiene products to clients in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The special distribution provided 480 sets of good and hygiene products to our homebound seniors and individuals who are at a higher risk during the pandemic.
