April 2019
Honoring the Special People in Our Lives on Mother's Day and Father's Day
We are approaching the season to celebrate those who have made a meaningful difference in our lives on Mother's Day and Father's Day, and we invite you to honor your loved one in a special way. The Mother's Day/Father's Day campaign allows your donation to LifeCare Alliance to impact our homebound neighbors and recognize those who touch your life.

Your gift will keep on giving by providing a week, month, or even a full year of nutritious meals and other services for a homebound client who depends on our programs. You can choose your recipient(s) and we will mail a card to a parent(s), a special person who has made an impact in your life, or one of our clients, sharing that you have contributed in their honor.

To make your Mother's Day or Father's Day contribution, contact Amanda Shafer at:
614-437-2922 or

In addition to our Mother's Day/Father's Day campaign, we invite you to consider our Legacy Endowment Campaign, which is underway and building momentum. A generous anonymous donor will match endowment gifts up to $5 million! The goal is to increase the Agency's endowment to $20M by 2025, which will provide $1 million in interest annually to use as a consistent source of funding for life-sustaining programs.

To learn more, or to discuss matching gift opportunities, please contact:

Program Spotlight: Senior PetCare
Senior PetCare provides eligible clients with assistance in taking care of their pets, helping to maintain the client’s ability to remain in their own home. Volunteers deliver pet food to clients’ homes, and the program also assists with veterinary care.
“I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for help with (my pet's) care. I don't even know where I would be living if I had other expenses. It's a blessing. I don't know how else to thank you." -Senior PetCare client

More than 70% of our clients own at least one cat or dog. For some, their pet may be the only companion they have contact with throughout the day, providing security and comfort. According to a recent survey of our clients who receive services from the Senior PetCare program, 92% agree that the program has allowed them to maintain companionship with their pets. Because we are able to keep more pets at home with their owners, this means a reduced number of animals end up in shelters.
Quarterly Health Services Corner
LifeCare Alliance is excited to host a series of Molina MyHealth Spot Clinics, beginning April 3rd! Our very own Columbus Cancer Clinic and Wellness programs will partner to promote wellness, well checks, diabetes screenings, cancer screenings, and cancer prevention. This collaboration will help lead to improved patient care, ongoing care management, and increased awareness of the many resources that LifeCare Alliance can offer.

Molina Healthcare will be onsite with their nurse practitioners, seeing their members in our clinic. While onsite, patients can also directly connect with LifeCare Alliance services to:

  • Have a mammogram or cancer screening in the Columbus Cancer Clinic
  • Meet with a registered dietitian to discuss medical nutrition therapy for diabetics

Thank you to Molina for your support in improving public health!
