Thoughtful, Kind, Giving and Loving Mother Saves Three Lives Through Selfless Donation

Jacqueline Taylor was the youngest of three daughters according to her dad, Scott Taylor. “She had the beauty that could have graced any stage or magazine. Jacqueline was thoughtful, kind, giving and was a loving mother. She had two sons JoJo and Carter who were the loves of her life. Jacqueline enjoyed spending time with her family, hanging by the pool, grilling and swimming. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. It was always a wonderful time of the year filled with family traditions.”

“She had an entrepreneurial spirit and was driven to succeed,” shares Taylor. “When she set her mind on a goal, she was unstoppable. She obtained her realtor’s license in 2020 and was actively building her portfolio.”

Nearly two years ago, 25-year-old Jacqueline died due to anoxia. She left a lasting legacy helping to save the lives of three patients with her generous donation of her liver and two kidneys. Jacqueline’s cornea restored sight for a 66-year-old female and a 27-year-old male.

Jacqueline honored others by making the decision to register as a donor. “I believe that I speak for her mom and sisters in that we all believe it’s an amazing program benefiting thousands of recipients and their families,” emphasizes Taylor.

Donate Life Month is Around the Corner

Donate Life Month is approaching fast! National Donate Life Month (NDLM) was established by Donate Life America and its partnering organizations in 2003. Observed in April each year, National Donate Life Month helps to encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors and to honor those who have saved lives through the gift of donation.

Please join us on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to help us honor donors, recipients, and their families and caregivers. We also will be recognizing clinical teams’ relentless dedication to honoring the gift of donation and saving the lives of those waiting for a second chance at life.

We encourage our hospital partners to reach out to their LifeGift donation systems specialist to arrange NDLM observances at their respective hospitals. For additional information and to locate your LifeGift donation systems specialist, please click here.

Living Donor Day:

April 3, 2024

Donate Life Living Donor Day is a celebration during National Donate Life Month that honors living organ and tissue donors for saving and healing lives! In 2023, more than 6,900 people made the decision to give one of their kidneys or a part of their liver to someone waiting for a second chance at life. *

Others gave the healing gift of birth tissue. Birth tissue includes tissues such as placenta and amniotic membrane. Grafts derived from birth tissue promote natural wound healing. To learn more about living donation, please click here.

Thank you to all living donors for your remarkable generosity!
