From The Pastor's Desk:
We at Lord of Life are: Joyfully reaching out in love as God’s people!
Because Valentine's Day is in February, it is often thought of as the month of love. Flowers, cards, candies, and special nights out are the ways many choose to express love for that “special person”. Folks often go to long lengths for those they love!
In 1st Corinthians 13, we hear remarkable words concerning the power of love. Most of us have heard these words in weddings, and that’s understandable. “Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
But Paul has a different purpose in mind - he is offering a vision of what it means to be in community with one another. That vision is a community that strives to attain the highest of all spiritual gifts: Love. The kind of love that originates in God – agape love. While not diminishing other forms of love at all, what Paul turns us toward is the kind of love for one another that Christ has – love exemplified by caring for the well-being of others, even at great cost. Paul ends with the analogy of growing up in one’s reasoning, making the point that, while we strive toward this Christian love now, we will have a fuller understanding in the next life of what love means with God.
“...then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.”
May your days be filled with the love of God, and may we always find new ways to joyfully reach out in love as God’s people!
Pastor Barry

Puzzle Exchange
Through March 2nd
The Puzzle Exchange will continue until Sunday, March 2nd. The puzzle table can be found in Fellowship Hall, and will include puzzles of all sizes and for all ages. People are encouraged to drop off puzzles and take some home, too. There is no cost to participate, and you do not have to add a puzzle to take one or more, but you can return the puzzle after you have completed it so that others can enjoy it too. If you donate a puzzle to our exchange, we just ask that they be in good condition and have no missing pieces. At the end of the exchange, leftover puzzles will be donated to one or more of our outreach ministries.

Music Ministry "Notes"
From Director Rick Krause

Organ Dedication
9:30 AM Sunday Church Service,
March 2nd
Thank you to everyone in our Lord of Life family who contributed to the acquisition of the Allen MDS-40-S digital organ for our sanctuary. The organ has the potential to fill our sanctuary with beautiful music and lead our church's song for many years to come. There are plans to dedicate the organ at our 9:30 AM worship service on Sunday, March 2nd.
In addition to the generous donations, we received a $1500 grant from the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM) to help fund the organ project. The ALCM is also planning a feature article in their quarterly publication "In Tempo" about our story to acquire the organ.
Once again, thank you to all those who contributed to obtaining the organ and for helping to make the dream a reality. Blessings!
Rick Krause

Annual Meeting
Summary
Thank you to all church members who attended the Annual Meeting this past Sunday. Pastor led the group with a prayer to begin the meeting and then Council President presided over it. The new mission statement, "Joyfully Reaching Out In Love As God's People," was proclaimed, and an explanation was given as to how it evolved out of our 4 Core Values. Our spending plan for 2025 was approved after a detailed summary of last year's finances and the 2025 projected outlook. There were three church members elected to Church Council for 2 year terms: Marybeth Goldberg, Ray Kucklinca, and Cynthia Tait. Outgoing Church Council members, Merle Brown, Jim Ernst, Penny Miller, and Barbara Wagner, were thanked for their service. All were encouraged to read the Ministry Reports within the Congregational Report. They are a testament to work, outreach, and generosity of our congregation. The meeting concluded with the installation of the Council and a prayer led by Pastor.
If you did not pick up a copy of the Congregational Annual Report at the church or meeting, you can read it by clicking on the link below. It contains the meeting agenda, the 2025 spending plan, and Ministry reports.

American Red Cross Blood Drive
At Lord Of Life
Thank You!
From Jenifer Foley, Account Manager, American Red Cross:
Hello everyone! I want to give a big shout out to everyone in the Lord of Life community who made this blood drive possible. We have had many drives and donors cancelling due to the snow and cold weather, but Lord of Life welcomed in 27 blood donors who came out to make a difference!
Trauma victims, burn patients, mothers in labor, orthopedic surgery patients, children fighting Leukemia, patients with Sickle Cell disease, and over 1 million Cancer patients each year… all of these people rely on the generosity of blood donors. In one blood drive, the Lord of Life community collected enough blood to hopefully impact the lives of 66 hospital patients in need of blood products
Thank you for bringing the Red Cross’s lifesaving mission to the residents of Tabernacle.
From Bill Dreisbach, Lord of Life Blood Drive Co-Coordinator:
Thanks again to everyone helping to run this blood drive! Special thanks to Jim Cuviello and Sue Dreisbach who helped clean and "put together” Fellowship Hall after the event and to Ed Harding, Judy Lerner, and Keith Lerner for greeting visitors and supporting the event. And thanks to Lu Hourihan for coordinating with the donors before the drive.
We exceeded the Red Cross's goal with 23 pints donated. That total includes 3 donors giving special “Power Reds” which count as double. There were 6 other potential donors who came to the drive, but were unable to have their blood taken due to various reasons.
Thanks to everyone who donated and to Lord Of Life for making this life-saving event possible.
