From The Pastor's Desk:
Dear Friends in Christ,
As you read this, our celebration of the Day of Pentecost has come, and now we look forward to a summer of growth. The colors of the worship space reflect that with green on the altar and pulpit - signs of the growth of the church.
Just yesterday I was tidying up my yard, fertilizing the grass, shrubs and flowers, and trees. The yard requires regular feeding and watering, cutting and pruning to encourage growth, and the removal of weeds. All these make for a healthy and, hopefully, beautiful and useful outside home. Now, understand this. I am not a happy gardener or particularly joyful yard maintenance guy - so I won’t stretch this analogy too far. Let’s just say that I do enjoy the results and want my home to be healthy and flourishing.
Maintaining our faith and our relationship with God bears similarities - and some differences. God has already taken care of the watering in our baptisms - water that sinks deep within us creating springs of living water. Feeding the soul is also something God takes care of as our souls are fed and renewed in the bread and cup of salvation given in Holy Communion. Our worship liturgy prunes away the weeds of our humanity as we confess our sin and receive again, and again, the grace of God’s forgiveness. Hearing the Word of God read and proclaimed in worship aligns us with God’s image for us and helps to make us healthy, beautiful and useful as we go into the world as God’s people. Fed and watered to joyfully live and serve as the Body of Christ.
Since God provides all the resources and accomplishes all the work for our well being, what is required of us? That part is easy! Just show up! Place yourselves in the presence of God in worship. Let God water your life, feed your hungry soul, pull the weeds that interfere with faith, and cultivate in you a faith that is vibrant and healthy. Come, and be filled with God’s presence. Celebrate God’s goodness with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
May your summer be filled with goodness and hope! May you be made strong and courageous in faith! And, may you know God’s great and deep peace within and around you every day!
See you at church soon!

Lord Of Life
New Pastor Fund
A note from Church Council President Bill Reich:
I want to make you aware that at the end of March, 2026, your church council authorized the creation of a “New Pastor Fund”. The money in this fund will be used solely for the new pastor’s compensation. These funds will allow the pastor to begin his/her ministry with us on firm financial footing. This new money will provide a full time pastor with fair and just compensation (which includes health benefits for a family).
The process of seeking contributions for the New Pastor Fund was done using two methods over the last five weeks. The first method used face-to-face communication with church members to ask for contributions. The second method was a letter writing campaign to ask those members of the congregation that could not be reached for face-to-face conversation to contribute to the fund.
I am pleased to share with you that the combined result from both methods of asking has resulted in pledges to the New Pastor Fund of $149,282 as of Sunday, May 17th! This is 93% of our goal of $160,000. THANK YOU!
If you have any questions, you can talk to me at church, or email me at: LOL_PREZ@LordLife.us

Bible Study To Resume:
Wednesday, September 16th
At 10:00 AM
The Holy Spirit: God’s Presence and Power at Work in Us
By Adam Hamilton
The Holy Spirit is God's active presence and power at work in the world and in our lives. Through the Spirit, we are transformed, led, empowered, and guided in our faith journey. Jesus promised his followers that the Spirit would come alongside them as comforter and counselor, empowering them to transform the world.
In The Holy Spirit, Adam Hamilton explores what Scripture teaches about God's Spirit―from the Hebrew Bible through Jesus' promises in the Gospels, the powerful Pentecost experience in Acts, and the rich teachings found in the New Testament letters. This accessible study helps believers understand and experience the Holy Spirit's presence and power in their daily walk with Christ.

Summary:
Adult Ministry
Steering Committee Meeting
Held On May 21st
Adult Ministry's annual Steering Committee meeting is a time to look back over the past program year and consider what worked and what we would like to do differently in the next year.
In summary, Bible Study, PEP during Coffee Hour, last summer's Photo Contest, Lunch Bunch, Ice Cream Cruise, the Children's Message Songs, trips to the Chocolatrium and Seamen's Church Institute, and Quilt Ministry works days were some highlights of the year. Working in conjunction with other ministries, we had many meaningful service projects and a wonderful Women's Retreat.
Suggestions were made for improving communication to the public using FaceBook Events listings. Tom Tait reminded us that we need to stress that friends are ALWAYS welcome. A concern is to increase inter-generational participation and find ways of including people who work or go to school during the day. Book Club received suggestions of titles for next year. And the Taits have a winery trip lead that they will pursue.
Many thanks to all who participate in Adult Ministry offerings. A faithful faith-filled community is invaluable!
Blessings,
Janell Reich
(Thank you to attendees Craig Baechler, Nancy DiYenno, Sue Dreisbach, Dave Dugan, Lu Hourihan, Penny Miller, Joan Roberts, Pastor Barry Scott, Julie Scott, Cynthia Tait, Tom Tait. And thanks to Linda Baechler, Carolyn Cuviello and Sandy O'Neal who provided input via email.)

June Health Focus:
Nutrition
FUEL YOUR BODY FOR Summer
Eat Fresh, Feel Fresh in June!
The committee thanks Abby Cosper for providing a terrific focus on nutrition for May. In fact, we liked it so much that we are continuing to give members an opportunity to check it out in June before we head into our summer focus. The theme connects nutrition with the renewal of spring—reminding us that just as God’s creation is refreshed and growing, we can care for our bodies through fresh, seasonal foods and simple healthy habits that support energy, joy, and overall wellness.
We’re highlighting vibrant seasonal foods such as strawberries, spinach, asparagus, peas, and radishes, along with gentle daily reminders to “power your plate”: enjoy a variety of colors, stay well hydrated, begin the day with breakfast, and choose whole foods over processed options whenever possible.
Be sure to stop by the Stepping Stones to Health display in the Fellowship Hall throughout the month of June for helpful nutrition tips and encouragement. The poster will also include fun nutrition facts, along with a "June Healthy Challenge” inviting everyone to try a new vegetable, drink more water, and make small, positive food swaps as a simple way to care for the bodies God has given us.
For more information, you may also speak to one of our members, including Joan Molnar, Lu Hourihan, Janell Reich, Heather Cosper, Barbara Ma, or Cynthia Tait. You are also invited to let us know the health topics that you would like as a focus in future months.
