Thought for the Month...
St. John Paul, when he was Pope, said, "Every pilgrimage
a Christian makes is an important moment in his spiritual life."

I hope you have heard about the special opportunity to pray together at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help on Sunday, August 18, 2019. We are calling this pilgrimage a "Parish Family Field Trip."

By "family field trip," we mean that we hope all the family of St. Anthony's will know you are welcome! We have tried to keep costs to a minimum and make it as convenient as possible to travel in your car or share a ride with a fellow parishioner. You can bring your own lunch or order a box lunch available for you at the shrine. The cost should be minimal... the spiritual benefits great!

By "pilgrimage," we mean this is "a journey to a sacred place for the purpose of worship to seek heavenly aid, and ultimately to come to know God better." The Most Rev. David Ricken, the bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay (where the shrine is located) has said, "Graces have been poured out through the sacraments celebrated in this place. Our Lady has lessened or relieved the burdens of the People of God, whether about financial, familial, relationship or employment matters..."

If you aren't familiar with the shrine, it is the site of apparitions of the Blessed Mother to Adele Brise, a young Belgian immigrant woman. Mary told Adele, "Gather the children in this wild country and teach them what they need to know for salvation... Go and fear nothing. I will help you." Adele did that faithfully for the next many years.

This holy place was spared from the infamous Peshtigo fire of 1871. The story of Adele's experiences and what happened on the site of this shrine is something very special.

Check the website for details or let us know if you have any questions.
You are not too young or too old for this "field trip." I hope we, as friends in this parish family, will join for this opportunity to pray together.

St. John Paul, as Pope, urged faithful Catholics to make pilgrimages. He called upon all of us to go to the Marian sites to be converted-- to give of ourselves totally, to the Blessed Mother and to her divine Son, Jesus. He said, "Every pilgrimage a Christian makes is an important moment in his spiritual life. It helps him discover the power of prayer which unifies the being and is the source of the witness each person is called to bear, and of his mission."
On August 18, join us for a day-long pilgrimage to the Green Bay area:
