"Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God" (Teilhard de Chardin)
At our Parent Café, this week we discussed the question:
How can you help your child achieve joy in the midst of all the tragedies in the world?
Though you can read more about the parent cafe on our
family program blog
, here are just a few wonderful thoughts of some wisdom that was shared to help you carry joy into your week.
* Justin and Christine Morris shared a great quote they gave their son:
The first to apologize is the bravest, the first to forgive is the strongest, and the first to forget is the happiest.
* Mary Lane shared what she teaches the
children in her class about how to order priorities to find Joy: Jesus- Others- Yourself.
* Lisa Metz shared this quote from Pope Francis: "
A healthy Christian is a joyful Christian, even in times of sorrow and tribulation."
And, my friend, Henri Nouwen said:
Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to keep choosing it every day.
We can choose joy even amid difficulties and disappointments, if faith in God's love for us, is the foundation upon which we build life. Trust in that love. Today choose joy.
