News from the Health Department:

It’s not easy playing the part of host or hostess with the “most-est” at the holidays. A lot of time, effort, and planning goes into making merry with family and friends. In all the excitement of getting the house and food ready for guests, honest mistakes, minor mishaps, and even life-threatening emergencies can happen.

Some accidents are just that—accidents—while others (like turkey fryer fires) are often preventable. However, you can be better prepared for all of them. Click here to learn five do-it-yourself skills that will, at the least, save your guests from a mild bout of food poisoning. At most, they could save a life.

Whitefish Bay School District 8th Grade Open House

The 8th Grade Open House is Thursday, January 10, 2019 beginning at 6:00 pm in the High School auditorium. Our Open House is designed to better acquaint eighth grade students and their parents with the Whitefish Bay High School, the educational programs we have to offer, and to help facilitate the transition to high school. Following a general session in the auditorium from 6:00 pm to 6:40 pm, you will have a structured opportunity to tour the building until 7:45 pm. Members of our faculty will be located throughout the building to provide information and answer questions regarding our curricular programs.

From 7:45 pm to 8:15 pm students and staff associated with many of the extra-curricular activities we offer will be on hand in the Link (near the Fieldhouse and pool) to offer additional information about clubs and sports. If your 8th grade student currently attends a private school, this is also a great opportunity to gather information, receive a tour, and fill out registration material.
New Parent Coffee

Parents of first-time freshmen/new students to the District are invited to come to a panel discussion/coffee on January 7, 2019 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am to network/ask questions of parents who currently have kids in high school and college. Please email Principal Levek to RSVP or with any questions.
