A first of its kind library/media collaboration in the City, the partnership of KHOU11 and the Houston Public Library remains strong and celebrates one year in helping to bridge the learning and technology gap facing Houston's youth!
We are pleased to present Liftoff To Learning reloaded starting Saturday, June 19th at 10 AM. Tune in for this educational programming initiative that launched last summer in response to the need to ensure students and their families without home and computer access were able to access library programming and resources during the pandemic.
An award winning program, Liftoff To Learning includes educational videos focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and targets kindergarten to 3rd grade students and their families. This summer, the program will also feature KHOU11 celebrity storytimes and airs Saturdays at 10 AM (June 19, July 3, 17, 31 and August 14) on KHOU11's education centric Channel 55.
In addition to this partnership, the Houston Public Library offers many databases and has various recommended websites to support learning and serve as resources to help further bridge the gap.
