The Light Green Machine Institute

April 2018: Another angle on the Light Green Machine...

Sometimes, under the auspices of light and green there are things we should think of that we have not...
For instance, when a loose wire in an unused starter or drive causes a fire in a motor control center.
Dead equipment should be removed, thus lightening the load, so to speak. It is nothing but a potential liability, causing damage to equipment in the immediate surrounding area, initiating unscheduled downtime and creating potential lost time accidents for humans.
It is fiduciary malfeasance to not include demolition and site clearing of all obsolesced equipment in capital renovation projects. In plainer language, you are simply lying about the cost of a capital project if you do not include this demolition.
And it will make your facility lighter today and tomorrow.
And just maybe save a life or prevent a serious injury.
