Last month, we threw down a challenge (see last month's issue
here). We are emphasizing it again this month in case you missed it.
We think the mathematics exists to write such an equation.
Yet, every time we see someone design a new mill, they use experience (which is good) but never back that up with a thorough mathematical exercise to optimize the machine parameters.
We think it is about time, hence the contest.
The monetary reward is small, but we think a solution could bring significant recognition to the team that solves it.
We have solicited a number of pulp and paper schools in the United States and challenged them to bring forth a team. If you know of any entity or organization who wants to enter our challenge, please let them know and tell them to contact us.
The Light Green Machine Institute is a 501C3 Delaware Registered Corporation. If you are interested in making tax deductible donations to our initiatives, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
