Light Of The World!!! Fathers Day 6/15/25

Matthew 5:13–16 (KJV 1900)

¹³Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

⁴Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

³Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: And the fruit of the womb is his reward.

⁴As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; So are children of the youth.

⁵Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: They shall not be ashamed, But they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Yes, it is indeed a blessing and an honor to be a father, but MUCH MORE a RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you call a man who sires a child but flees the coup???? A CHICKEN!!!

I rarely write a message this “late” in the evening, (I am old-9 O'clock bedtime), but I know full well that God has really spoken to me and I may well not type what he laid on my heart if I fail to record His message through me immediately........

I surmise I am“old school!!!” I was born in the 1950's, raised in the tumultuous 60's and experienced the raging 70's as a teenager.

BUT my values were forged in the 1950's.

I rarely saw my dad growing up! I have few memories of him attending my sporting events or my school activities-NOT because he was a derelict or absent father but simply because he was WORKING-W-O-R-K-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My father worked 9 to 9, 6 days a week-every day, every year of my young life!!!!!!

I do not recall fearing my father's punishment, but I DID have a very healthy FEAR of him. Please research the true intention and Biblical definition of Godly fear found in our Bible. Simply put-I RESPECTED him and his AUTHORITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was TAUGHT to respect and honor my mother and to PROTECT womankind!!!!

My mother was a “stay at home” mother/housewife. My father was the sole provider and bread-winner for the Drucker household and my father paid ALL the bills.

I NEVER went hungry or homeless and my parents NEVER divorced.

My father wore the same black shoes until they could not be repaired and he polished them nightly with KIWI shoe polish!! He cut the grass weekly with a push mower and kept his cars squeaky clean and polished!!!!

HE INSTILLED THOSE VALUES IN ME!!!

Not by word but by example......................

MY FATHER TRULY WAS A LIGHT UNTO MY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sadly note that perhaps my values or no good today, yet I tried to instill those values in my own sons and grandsons-UN-ASHAMEDLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still believe in them......

I tried to teach my daughters to look for the same attributes in any suitor that hoped to capture their hearts.

I STILL HOLD TO THESE VALUES TODAY.

TODAY I say to the young men and women who read this sermon:

BE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD TO YOUR LOVED ONES-BE A REAL MAN!!!

DO NOT BE A CHICKEN!!!

BE AN EAGLE THAT IS SELF SUFFICIENT-ABLE TO FLY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May God bless you today and keep you fathers!!

Will YOU be the MAN who will STAND IN THE GAP AND MAKE UP THE HEDGE FOR YOUR FAMIY??????????
