Greetings!
As we drop into the longest night of the year, I invite you to join me in lighting a candle on tonight’s solstice in celebration of tomorrow’s returning light. And, it’s also lovely to begin the day tomorrow by greeting the sun and expressing something you are grateful for. I am grateful for you! Thank you for the many ways you have shown up this year to express your love for Point Reyes.

Winter Gifts of Point Reyes
The park abounds with life this time of year, and visiting with a friend or loved one could be a wonderful gift. Here are some of the magical sightings you might experience this season: the golden hues of the winter light, the returning ducks and shorebirds finding food and mates along our watery shores, the blooming fungi surfacing from the dried leaves on the forest floors, the returning elephant seals seeking rest and refuge on our beaches, and my personal favorite… the return of the monarchs.

These annual patterns remind me of how we are connected to the larger world. I invite you to visit and find your own special moments of awe.
Below is a glimpse of the winter gifts that await you in Point Reyes. Thank you for being a special member of our Point Reyes community! Wishing you a season filled with light and love. Looking forward to seeing you in 2024.
With Gratitude,
