Lehmanite Spotlight

Bronx borough president Vanessa L. Gibson (right) presented Courtney Lanier (center) with a Citation of Merit for his outstanding service promoting health and wellness to the Lehman College and local veterans' communities. Luis Soltero-Rodriguez (left), Director of Lehman's Office of Veterans and Military Affairs lent his support.

Courtney, a U.S. Army veteran, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics at Lehman and is the president of the Veterans Club.

“I aim to create a comfortable environment for all service members, veterans, and dependents attending Lehman College to feel welcomed and understand that they have a community that understands them.”

New York State funds CUNY’s Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative to reduce textbook costs for students and increase access to required course materials, which include teaching, learning and research materials in any medium that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license.
