LightHouse Worship: The Drawing Board - Or Drawing Table - Or Drafting Table

A Note From Pastor Linda

Come, let us shout praises to God, raise the roof for the Rock who saved us! Let us march into God's presence singing praises, lifting the rafters with our songs! ~Psalm 95
Dear Friends in Christ~
The notion of a Drawing Board or Drawing Table or Drafting Table is the shape of THE MESSAGE portion of our NEW LightHouse worship. What does this mean? It means that The Message will be a time where we will have a conversation about the question, the topic and the Bible text(s). It won't be a "put together" sermon but rather ponderings and questions and consideration about what does this mean for our life together; stories will be shared; we might even ask you to get involved! (Come back on Sunday when the preacher will (hopefully ;-) ) put all the pieces together!)
Grayson DeWolf (pictured above), along with Rob Anderson and others will lead music for LightHouse worship. Of music Martin Luther reminds us:
"Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music."
Grayson DeWolf is a Forest Lake native- currently enrolled at Hamline University. Grayson's hard work ethic and anthemic songwriting has found a home in the Twin Cities music scene. The multi-instrumentalist and producer spent his early years in high school touring the country while opening for national and international acts. He won Minnesota's Go 96.3's Battle of the Bands. Got Questions? Get Answers.
Fall Sunday Series
Everyone has questions.  Young children ask "why?"  Teenagers ask "why not?"  Adults question "what if?"  Do you have questions about God, Jesus, the Bible?  Do you have questions about life?  Do you have questions for God about life?  Every day, more and more people are going to Siri or Alexa or Google to find answers to their questions about and for God.  I have a better idea:  Come to Hosanna to "get answers."

September Read:
Educated:  A Memoir by Tara Westover
An unforgettable memoir about a young girl who, kept out of school, leaves her survivalist family and goes on to earn a PhD from Cambridge University.
The story begins:  Tara Westover was 17 the first time she set foot in a classroom. Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, she prepared for the end of the world by stockpiling home-canned peaches and sleeping with her "head-for-the-hills bag". In the summer she stewed herbs for her mother, a midwife and healer, and in the winter she salvaged in her father's junkyard.
Discussion Date:  Tuesday, September 25 at 7pm at Kelly Monson's home.

The Sun Does Shine:  How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row by Anthony Ray Hinton and Lara Love Hardin

An unforgettable, haunting story of a terrible injustice that was done to a black man from Alabama, Ray Hinton. In 1985 Anthony Ray Hinton was convicted of a crime he didn't commit and sentenced to die by execution. Ray spent nearly thirty years on death row before the state of Alabama admitted that they had made a mistake, and set him free.
