Intern/Volunteer Opportunities
|
|
We are still on the look out for more college level interns or Volunteers of any age who can help us out in two very important areas.
- Social Media/Office - assists with the Festival's social media accounts as well as misc. office help.
- IT - occasionally, we need assistance making sure all of our computers and other office equipment are in tip-top shape.
If you, or you know of anyone, who is Social Media or IT savvy,
please contact the Lilac Office team
. This is a great opportunity for someone, especially students, looking to boost their work experience on their resume. However, as an all Volunteer organization, we welcome any and all help we can get!

Mike has been a member of the Spokane Lilac Festival since 2011.
He served as the President of 2015's "A Festival to Remember," the Festival's 77th anniversary.
Mike is once again our Vice President of Corporate Development for 2020. Along with help from other Directors, Mike reaches out to many businesses and organizations around Spokane to bring in partnerships in both, monetary and in-kind donations.
When not wearing his purple coat, Mike is an attorney in private practice in Washington and California. In 2007 and 2015, he was recognized by the Spokane County Bar Association as their
Volunteer Lawyer of the Year
for his pro bono service with the Housing Justice Project. Now semi-retired, he has represented clients in civil matters with over 80 jury trials during his 35 years of practice.
His lovely wife Mary, also a Lilac member, received her BS in Nursing from UW and an MBA from Columbia University. She currently works as a nurse liaison for Ernest Health. Mike and Mary have two children. Their daughter Meg, a Lilac Princess in 2010, graduated with her Masters Degree in Digital Communications from UW and works for the University. Their son Matt, graduated from WSU and works for Columbia Distributors in Seattle.
We want to thank and recognize Mike for all of his hard work and dedication, not only as the VP of Corporate Development, but as a long time member of the Lilac Festival.

School coordinators are now able to complete the Intent to Participate form online. This form's purpose is to give our VP's of Royalty a confirmation that a particular school intends to submit a Candidate for the Lilac Royalty program. If you are your schools' coordinator or can pass a long the message to them, please share with them the
