It's here, and we can't believe it, we are in our final days with our 19 Candidates. On Saturday, they will each be interviewed by judges selected from the community. Somehow, the judges will select our 7 Court Members. We do not envy them as all of our 19 Candidates have shown great leadership and growth in these short weeks.
This past Saturday, our Candidates were honored as special guests at the Spokane Woman's Club's annual Vintage Fashion Show and Tea. They helped set up, take down, greeted guests and had a great opportunity to practice their public speaking skills as they introduced themselves to the crowd individually.
In addition to the tea party, the 19 Candidates participated in a Win/Win training given by Brian Newberry, CEO of the Girls Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. They also met with their Purple Pod leaders one last time for help and words of encouragement before interviews this weekend.
We could not be more proud of these young leaders and know that all of them, no matter who is chosen for Court, will be amazing representatives of our Lilac City.
Keep reading this week's Lilac Weekly as we introduce the remaining five "We Are Spokane" Candidates.
And don't forget to mark your calendars and purchase tickets for
Sunday, March 3rd at 3pm for the 2019 Royalty Coronation
at West Valley High School.

Grace Cvancara

Grace, or "Babycake Lighting" to her dad, is the youngest of four girls. She is very close to them and credits them for teaching her how to be kind and strong in times of difficulty. She also has a busy household with a dog, two cats and 11 chickens!
She is a very talented musician who plays the piano, accordion and sings. She plays with both her Worship Team and Youth Group through her church. She currently volunteers at a local Hospice center which she has found to be a blessing in her life.
After graduation, she plans to attend college to one day become a Physician's Assistant. Her dream job would be to use her medical skills overseas to help those in need. One of her bucket list items is to go on medical missions and skydive.
An interesting fact about Grace is that she is currently writing a book that she hopes to self-publish within the year. Wow! In her downtime, Grace enjoys listening to audio books while sketching. She makes spending time with her family her number one priority. She is a big fan of Dutch Bros., where her favorite drink is an Early Grey Tea or London Fog.
