From Our Director
This weekend, our final PULSE Weekend Immersion of the spring was held in Baton Rouge, and let me tell you, these students were focused on learning what it takes to change our culture toward life!

Not only did they come from across south Louisiana, but we even had one student from Mississippi and two students all the way from Rhode Island! We are thankful to Gov. John Bel Edwards and First Lady Donna Edwards for welcoming us into the Governor's Mansion and spending quality time with our the students. We are excited to see these students make an impact in Louisiana!

STOP DISMEMBERMENT ABORTIONS!

Volunteers Needed to Help With Door Hanger Campaign

State Rep. Mike Johnson (R-Bossier), recently introduced HB 1081, The Louisiana Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Act, which would protect unborn babies by ending the brutal practice of dismemberment abortion where unborn babies are torn apart limb by limb.

Every year more than than 1,000 innocent unborn children in Louisiana are victims of an inhumane practice called dismemberment abortion. The abortion method, which is a subset of D&E, or "dilatation and evacuation" abortions, involves dilating a woman's cervix, vacuuming the amniotic fluid that surrounds the child, and then introducing an instrument which is used to grasp and pull the child out piece by piece. The child is alive during this torturous process and dies of bleeding out during the dismemberment.

Johnson, who is also a constitutional law attorney, said the following about his decision to introduce HB 1081: "Louisiana has a long history of protecting the most vulnerable members of our society - unborn children. HB 1081 will continue in that tradition by protecting these little ones from the barbaric practice of being torn apart in the womb by an abortionist's forceps."

As the bill proceeds through the legislative channels in Baton Rouge (it will be heard in the Health and Welfare Committee THIS Wednesday), Louisiana Right to Life is sponsoring a dismemberment abortion door hanger campaign, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are looking for teams of dedicated pro-life volunteers to help distribute door hangers throughout Louisiana on May 14.

The Louisiana Right to Life Door Hanger Campaign is a statewide grassroots effort dedicated to educating the public on the injustice of dismemberment abortion. Volunteers throughout Louisiana will leave colorful and informative literature on doorknobs in their neighborhoods and communities to urge residents to sign a petition at EndDismemberment.com.

Volunteers will meet at a designated location for four hours on May 14 and work in teams to drop literature throughout a targeted area. Team captains will coordinate volunteers in their communities, and if your local team wants to do drops on more dates than May 14, that is fine by us! New Orleans will be employing this tactic, kicking off its campaign on April 23 at the Planned Parenthood site on Claiborne Avenue from noon to 4 p.m.

Several locations have already scheduled campaigns for May 14, but we need more launch sites for May 14. Will you host a launch site or attend one? Please take action!
