Fundamental Skills Workshop | Surrey - 18th November 2023
The LimbPower Fundamental Skills Workshop is a free event designed to empower children and young people aged 4-18 with physical impairments. Attendees will develop skills to participate in school P.E. and community activities, learn how to use their prosthetics for physical activity, and build confidence. These workshops are a vital part of the rehabilitation journey for many children, helping them overcome physical and psychological barriers. Join LimbPower and make a difference in children’s lives!

Another Gap in the Pathway Filled!
In a significant development this September, LimbPower officially became a registered member of World Abilitysport, an international sports organisation dedicated to expanding opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities. This exciting affiliation allows LimbPower to register and support limb-different athletes for participation in global sporting events.
World Abilitysport, is one of the founding organisations behind the Paralympic Games. They play a pivotal role in fostering Para sports worldwide.
World Abilitysport contributes to the growth of athlete programmes in emerging nations, offering expertise and guidance while actively participating in the World and Youth Games.

Prepare to Move & Prepare to Run
LimbPower’s Prepare to Move and Prepare to Run workshops held through August and September were a resounding success, with 32 limb different participants receiving bespoke coaching and training programmes. The feedback from attendees was amazing, with one participant saying, "In a year and a half with blades, I've learned more in these few hours than any club was able to teach me”, while another expressed gratitude, stating, “Coordination and balance is a challenge, I have learnt to be more intentional with my movement. I also learnt from observing others that it is possible to run as an amputee.”

Para Standing Tennis Festival 25th November
The LTA is running the first-ever Para Standing Tennis Festival in the UK. This great upcoming LTA Para Standing tennis festival is for players with a physical impairment that can play ambulant tennis. This event will take place at the National Tennis Centre in South West London on 25th November. The day will be split into two sessions: a morning session that will consist of group coaching and getting to know everyone on-court, and an afternoon session for those wanting to stay on and join in with some friendly games and match play. It promises to be a great day for all that attend.
