Supporting India's Tea Workers During the Shutdown.

We've had a wonderful relationship with Rohini and Gopaldhara Estates, and they sent along the image above featuring some of their workers.

Tea plants were harvested for only a few weeks this spring before the shutdown, and most of the valuable first flush was lost. The quarantine has been especially hard on India's one million plus tea industry workers.
We were able to order a few kilograms before operations paused, and we just received some of the extremely limited 2020 first flush Darjeeling from Rohini Estate. We wish them a speedy recovery.
KMTV: The Tea Smith Stays Open During Pandemic.

KMTV reporter Maya Saenz paid a visit to our shop to see how the pandemic has affected our business. Chief Leaf Tim Smith gave her the scoop.

"Between the fact that we were able to stay open for people who wanted [us] to stay open, for people who wanted to come in or do curbside, and the payroll protection, we didn't have to do any furloughs or layoffs during that time, so we were blessed in that matter," Smith said.
