Limited technical update underway for Blueprint Denver
Denver Community Planning and Development (CPD) will be conducting a limited technical update of Blueprint Denver in 2026 to maintain consistency with recent state legislation and adopted city plans. This effort incorporates and clarifies existing adopted policies and required information into Comprehensive Plan 2040 by updating Blueprint Denver. It will also adopt theDenver One Water plan as a supplement to the Comprehensive Plan.
A draft of the proposed changes will be shared with the community this summer. Community members will have an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed changes. More information about how to participate can be found in the “How do I participate” section.
After feedback is collected, CPD staff will review the community’s comments on the proposed changes and make updates and revisions as appropriate.
After the changes have been incorporated, the Planning Board will review the final proposed changes at a public hearing and vote on whether to approve the updated plans in the fall.
After approved by the Planning Board, Denver City Council will review the final proposed changes at a public hearing and vote on whether to adopt the updated plan before the end of 2026.
What are the changes?
The proposed changes will not amend or change current policy, but rather, will update the document to be consistent with new requirements from recent state legislation, as well as other city plans that have been adopted since 2019. These technical changes can be found on the Blueprint Denver webpage under the “Blueprint Denver Proposed Changes” accordion. The proposed changes are organized by topic and page number. Additional information about where to find these changes is shown in red in the image below.
