She brings this and other recipes for great fall tips and treats to the Limoneira YouTube channel all month long.

For a helpful demonstration, you can watch Megan create the donuts below here on the Limoneira YouTube channel. Don't forget to subscribe - videos with more wonderful recipes, tips and tricks not detailed in this release will be added to the channel each Friday throughout the month.

Limoneira has also partnered with additional global chefs and mixologists, nutritionists, and beauty lifestyle and green cleaning experts to share their knowledge with the customers of our grocery and food service partners around the world. Their biographies can be found on Limoneira's website.

Pumpkin Orange Donuts - While "healthy" and "Halloween" might not seem to intuitively go together, these delicious gluten and dairy free donuts are the thing to change that.

Dry Ingredients:
*    Gluten-free baking mix:
o    1 cup brown rice flour
o    ½ cup almond flour
*    ½ cup sugar
*    2 tbsp flax seeds
*    1 tsp baking powder
*    1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Wet Ingredients:
* ¾ cup Limoneira navel orange juice
*   3 tbsp pumpkin puree
*   ¼ cup coconut oil

Glaze ingredients:
*    1 cup powdered sugar
*    2 tbsp Limoneira orange juice
*    ¼ tsp turmeric powder
*    ¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice
*    ½ cup dark chocolate chips

Directions: In a medium bowl, mix together all dry donut ingredients. In a small bowl, mix together the wet donut ingredients. The coconut oil may be slightly lumpy - which is perfectly fine. Add wet ingredients to bowl with dry ingredients and stir until well mixed. Let sit for three minutes as the flax seeds absorb water and thicken the batter. Pour, scoop or pipe the batter into a donut pan and bake and bake in a preheated oven at 350 F for 18-20 minutes. When finished baking, remove donuts from oven and let sit for 5 minutes. Flip the pan over onto a drying rack and let cool for an additional ten minutes.

While the donuts are cooling, add the glaze ingredients (sans chocolate chips) into a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. For chocolate glaze, simply melt chocolate chips in a double boiler. Next, it's time to decorate! Dip the rounded side of each donut into the glaze, and place back onto the drying rack to let the glaze set. Glaze and add chocolate drizzle/orange zest to taste.

Each month, Megan will be featuring another wonderful facet of citrus living, with weekly videos full of recipes, DIY tips and other ways to use Limoneira citrus. Subscribe to Limoneira's YouTube channel for more information on the many ways this endlessly versatile fruit can improve life inside the home and beyond.

itaIntercollegiate Tennis Association and Limoneira Announce Alliance Extension

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Limoneira, a leading agribusiness with prime agricultural and operations, real estate and water rights in California, announced an extension of their alliance, whereby Limoneira will continue to serve as the national sponsor of the ITA Community Service Month.

"We are excited to be continuing our relationship with Limoneira," said ITA CEO, Timothy Russell in a recent press release. "I would like to thank ITA Board member Harold Edwards for his commitment to serving and advancing college tennis. With Limoneira's support, ITA Community Service Month was a tremendous success and we look forward to the national campaign growing in the years to come, as our student-athletes continue to model behaviors and serve as leaders on their respective campuses."

Debuting in October 2017, the ITA Community Service Month Presented by Limoneira saw over 2,000 student-athletes from all five divisions of college tennis (NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO) perform more than 8,000 hours of service in their respective communities.
As part of ITA Community Service Month Presented by Limoneira, programs are encouraged to log their hours served with the ITA to be entered into the Limoneira Hours Challenge, which will be promoted on a weekly basis during October. The program with the most hours served at the end of ITA Community Service Month Presented by Limoneira will receive an ITA grant.

"This is our second year as a sponsor of ITA's Community Service Month, and we couldn't be happier with last year's results," said Limoneira CEO, Harold Edwards, who also serves on the ITA Board of Directors. "Our company strives to promote health. Tennis with its aerobic movements burns fat, increases one's heart rate and promotes higher energy levels. Lemon juice in water is one of the healthiest items that an athlete, or anyone for that matter, can consume. It provides an excellent source of Vitamin C, can naturally balance our bodies Ph levels, and help us stay hydrated." We appreciate ITA's assistance in communicating these important health messages".
"Furthermore, service to the community is an important Limoneira principle. Supporting the ITA's efforts in this regard is a no-brainer."
In addition to its role with ITA Community Service Month, Limoneira will have an increased on-site presence at several ITA regional and national tournaments, serving up Limoneira lemon water and extolling its health benefits as it relates to physical exercise.

About the Intercollegiate Tennis Association The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), is committed to serving college tennis and returning the leaders of tomorrow. As the governing body of college tennis, the ITA oversees men's and women's varsity tennis at NCAA Divisions I, II and II, NAIA and Junior/Community College divisions. pumpOne Of Southern California's Most Historic Pumpkin Patches Launches

Last year's pumpkin patch at Limoneira Ranch drew over twenty thousand people from far and wide, and this year's patch is pushing the "Wow" factor even higher. Nestled among lemon groves, framed by mountains and country air, the 15-acre Pumpkin Patch, including a 5-acre Corn MaiZe, is family fun for all on a real farm, that has been in operation for over one hundred years.

Orange Globes Fly Through Air Using French Trebuchet

Visitors will be able to climb the towering hay pyramid, see and hold Future Farmers of America (FFA) animals, take guided tours in old-fashioned hay wagon rides through the groves and enjoy festive foods and live entertainment and more. The patch features a recreated French Trebuchet (catapult) that challenges folks, for an extra charge, to hurl pumpkins at the "castle" and win prizes. And.....  perfect pumpkins and gourds far and wide for sale.

Directionally Challenged Run Amok in 5 ACre Corn MaiZe

Super exciting this year is the newly designed 5-acre "Amazement" Corn MaiZe.  Visitors fortunate enough to stumble onto the correct pathways may exit the MaiZe in less than 30 minutes; but the more directionally-challenged may take a couple of hours, providing a source of recreation that is fun for all ages, clean, educational and unique. Many people have watched the Santa Paula Rotary MaiZe grow by looking at images on social media.  The MaiZe used at the Pumpkin Patch has been featured on CNN, National Geographic, CBS, NBC, Discovery, People Magazine and more.

According to Jan Marholin, Santa Paula Rotary President, "Santa Paula's Pumpkin Patch is a tradition, and that it just isn't the start of the Holiday Season without it. Limoneira Ranch is "the" place to pick a perfect pumpkin, have fun and learn a little something about agriculture, whether you come with your kids, grandparents, spouse, date or school. It just seems to appeal to everyone."   All proceeds from the Santa Paula Rotary Pumpkin Patch at Limoneira Ranch support local charities, civic organizations and schools.  Come out and enjoy the fun!

Celebrate the fall this year by visiting The Pumpkin Patch at Limoneira Ranch each weekend this October. Saturdays and Sundays in October:  6/7,13/14, 20/21, and 27/28 between 10 am and 5 pm.  Admission is $6, children 2 and under are free.  The MaiZe is an additional $10.00 fee.  The Pumpkin Patch is located at 12471 Foothill Rd in Santa Paula, California just across from the Olivelands School.
