Lincoln Day Dinner

Reservations are available now for the Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, February 24 in Tiffin. We have a great line-up of speakers, including three statewide candidates, thanks to our State Rep. Bill Reineke. Click here to reserve online.

The dinner is at Camden Falls, 2460 SR 231 (S. Washington St.), Tiffin. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with dinner at 6:30 pm. It is $35 per person, with a discounted price of $19.99 for anyone under age 25. A reserved table for eight is $280. Cash or checks payable to the Seneca County Republican Party c/o Treasurer David W. Koehl may be mailed or dropped off at Paper and Ink, 98 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, downtown across from the Courthouse. You can also use credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal to reserve on our dinner website. This is a public event, and everyone is welcome to attend.

The dinner is co-sponsored by our friends in the Sandusky County Republican Party, and they will provide the Master of Ceremonies. Thanks to Chairman Justin Smith for his tireless efforts to make it a success.

State Sen. Frank LaRose was our 2016 Lincoln Day Dinner speaker, and returns as our candidate for Ohio Secretary of State.

State Rep. Robert Sprague represents Hancock County in the legislature, so he knows NW Ohio well. He joined us for a reception at the Bowe House Inn a few months ago. He has served as a management consultant at Ernst & Young, advising companies from London to Singapore and throughout the United States on a number of complex business matters. If you would like to run for office in 2018, petitions are due Wednesday, February 7 at 4:00 pm at the Board of Elections office. Precinct committee members are reminded that this is the year you need to run for re-election. No signatures are needed except your own for the Declaration of Candidacy form 2-M. Clerk Brian Courtney reported Monday morning that only 20 people have filed for the 51 seats. Click here for form 2-M. 

upcoming meetings

The Seneca County Republican Central Committee will hold its next meeting on Thursday, February 22 at 7:00 pm at the Board of Elections office, 71 S. Washington St., Tiffin. We will discuss whether we want to endorse primary candidates, filling vacancies on the committee, the Lincoln Day Dinner, and any other business. This is a public meeting, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Our friends in the North Central Ohio Conservative organization will be hosting US Senate candidate Mike Gibbons at their meeting Thursday, February 15 at 6:30 pm. Mike spoke at the 2017 Hog Roast and had a Town Hall in Tiffin a few weeks ago. The NCOC meeting is at the Camden Falls Trophy Room, 2460 SR 231 (S. Washington St.), Tiffin.

The next monthly luncheons are on February 14, March 14, and April 11. It's at Fort Ball Pizza, 51 N. Washington St., Tiffin, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. It is very informal, and everyone is welcome to join us. But be forewarned that your sweetheart many not enjoy our Valentines Day Republican luncheon as much as you!
