Dear Neighbor,

The construction of the Lincoln Elementary School Annex  will be starting soon, and the Public Building Commission of Chicago is hosting a community meeting to discuss the site and review the logistics plan for the site preparation phase of the project.

When: Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 6:00 PM

Where: Lincoln School Auditorium, 615 W. Kemper Place

Who: Public Building Commission of Chicago

For more information, please contact Molly Sullivan at the Public Building Commission at [email protected].

Additionally, I am happy to report that DePaul University has agreed to provide classroom space for one more year to accommodate the current overcrowded conditions at Lincoln Elementary while construction of the Annex continues.  We are very grateful for DePaul's continuing commitment to our community, and want to especially thank the DePaul University School of Education, which houses the classrooms.

State Parkway Resurfaced

I am very pleased to report the completion of the full resurfacing of the portion of State Parkway that lies in the 43rd Ward!  The following locations have been fully repaired via my Aldermanic Menu Fund:

State Parkway, between Division Street and North Avenue.

State Parkway suffered quite a bit from last winter's storm:

State Parkway before resurfacing.
State Parkway after resurfacing.

As you know, I continue to work with the City's Department of Transportation to initiate repairs to portions of the 43rd Ward that experienced substantial deterioration this winter.  I will continue to keep local residents apprised of the status on these needed infrastructure improvements via my e-newsletter as we make continued progress in the coming weeks!

Sincerely,

Michele Signature
