Lincoln Library News & Events
Late October 2020
October 26th | 6:30pm-8pm

Travel back in time with the author of "Haunted Illinois", as he takes us on a guided virtual tour to discover the history of death, politics, and other dark deeds of the city. Uncover ghostly tales, eerie folklore, and the documented hauntings of local homes and landmarks!
Remember to Vote!
through October 31st

The annual Pumpkin Contest is underway. The 15 pumpkins, created by library staff, are based on books. They can be viewed in the display cases near the checkout desk or online. Pick a favorite and then cast your vote.

Through October 29th

Who is the creepiest? Jigsaw? Maybe, Timmy? Oh, what about Arsenic Allie? View the dolls online and vote for the one you find most unnerving! (Don't worry! All votes are confidential! The Ghoul Gang will never know you didn't vote for them...probably.) The dolls deemed creepiest will receive a spooky prize for most popular and staff favorite!
Virtual Write-In
November 14 & 28th | 1-4pm

If you're an aspiring author looking to write the next Great American Novel, or if you're just bored sitting at home and looking for something to keep you busy this November, you are welcome to participate in "National Novel Writing Month," aka "NaNoWriMo." NaNoWriMo is an annual, 30-day, 50,000-word whirlwind of novel writing creativity.

Since we can't just "Come Write In" this year, Lincoln Library is holding write-ins online! Join us on Zoom to put in some work on your novel, race some other writers in word sprints, and help keep each other motivated as we power through to 50,000 words!
