North Lake Shore Drive Resurfacing Project will Close Two Lanes Overnight between Grand and North Avenue

First Phase will focus on Northbound Lanes

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced that resurfacing of North Lake Shore Drive between
Grand and North Avenues will begin Monday, October 19th.
All of the resurfacing, which is expected to take four weeks to complete, will take place over night and occur on weekdays (Monday through Thursday). Phase One of the project will close two lanes of northbound traffic between Grand and North Avenues. Preparatory work by the Department of Water Management has begun.

Eastbound Diversey Closed from Seminary to Sheffield
for Sewer Replacement

This major sewer project will run until about November 16.  Eastbound Diversey traffic is being detoured to Fullerton, so take another route to avoid traffic.

Water Department
Keeps You Up to Date

WaterALERT is a new system that allows residents to sign up to receive e-mail alerts on their mobile devices or home computers notifying them of any construction that will impact water service in their area.

If your street is undergoing a water project, you'll get a letter describing the work with a Project ID.  You can register and receive ongoing email alerts about the project.

The Cortland Bridge is Open!

After what felt like a long almost-five months, the Cortland Bridge is open for automobile traffic.  Thank you to the Chicago Department of Transportation for finishing the job early, and getting us a safe reconstruction of the bridge.

We're also grateful to CDOT for the improvements made to try to ease the congestion while the project was underway.
Bag Your Leaves

Residents can call 311 to request separate bagged leaf
collection from October 19 through November 27.

Bagged leaves and other yard waste should be left next to
the refuse and recycling carts in the alley or at the curb.
A Streets and Sanitation truck will collect the bags based on 311 requests and  take  them to be composted.

As a reminder, yard waste should not be thrown into the blue recycling cart as it contaminates the recycling stream.
