WEEK THREE @ LINCOLN
Our Summer here at Lincoln continues to be pretty amazing!
Week Three we started out the week sanding & staining! Our onsite Woodworking host was great - the kiddos really enjoyed this project and the final products were nothing short of masterpieces! Wednesday PJ, Popcorn and Movie day a huge success - a big shout out to the Lincoln PTA who shared their new popcorn machine & all the fixings with us! Thursdays unpredictable weather put a damper on our first Water Day, though we have another one coming up Monday!. Friday the Kinder - 2nd graders went to the MN Zoo, and the 3rd - 4th graders the Wabasha Street Caves. Both trips got rave reviews from the kiddos and staff alike, a great way to end the week!
Other highlights of the week included:
*MN Bike Alliance Bike Fleet - the 3rd-4th graders pedaled around the Lincoln neighborhood, destinations included Yost Park, Podvin Park, Birch Lake Playground and just riding for pure enJOYment!
*Butterflies & Bees Camp where students creatively 'sipped nectar', 'pollinated flowers', and had fun learning the science behind these important critters.
*Mythical Creatures Camp where they were able to let their imagination run wild, creating mythical creatures by rolling the dice, and mermaid slime!
*Young Entrepreneurs Camp where students came up with a business plan, marketed it (a big thank you to the districts communication department), and then put the plan in action w/ the Lucky Lemonade Stand!
Whether you bought some lemonade, made a donation, or simply wished us well - the Stand made over $250 to be donated to the White Bear Lake Emergency Food Shelf - what a generous community we live in!
WEEK FOUR @ LINCOLN
Week Four may have been short on days, though it was tall on fun!
Monday we kicked off the week with Super Slime Day! All kiddos were invited to the Cafe by baserooms during either morning or afternoon Choice time to partake in making slime - adding their own personal touch! Tuesday the weather was on our side as we all made the walk over to Podvin Park. We arrived by 10:30 and kiddos enJOY the park and lawn games, while we fired up the grill and got to cooking hot dogs. Our lunch was delicious, a little more play time, and we all headed back to Lincoln. Tuesday afternoon we were able to offer Wheels Day, and many chose to pedal the course around the school. Wednesday was another awesome day! Wheels Day was offered again during morning Choices. After lunch our Kinder-2nd graders took a trip to Gibbs Farm - it was a fun and educational experience, and even included homemade ice cream! Not to be outdone, the 3rd - 4th graders took a walk to Cup & Cone during afternoon Choice time on Wednesday, and were able to end the week with an ice cream treat as well!
Other highlights of the week included:
*Candy Science camp where kiddos made a sweet solar system out of skittles an m&ms, dissected candy, and did the tried and true mentos and soda explosion!
* We had a special guest from the White Bear Lake Library come during Literacy time on Monday and share out about the Summer Reading program they have going on. There are brochures at the parent table if you'd like to learn more information about this or to register you child(ren) for this opportunity in our community. Later this month we will be offering a walk to the White Bear Lake Library!

Important Field Trip Information

  • Field trip groups are split up based on the grade your child will be entering in the fall.
  • Most field trips will leave after lunch, however there may be some field trips that we ask you to pack a bag lunch. You will be notified of these special occasions in advance.
  • We ask that children wear their 'field trip shirt' on each field trip. You will receive this shirt during the first weeks of summer, and it is yours to keep. We also recommend tennis shoes for many field trips.
  • For swim trips, we provide a swim shirt for your child to wear over their suit. We will collect these at the end of each swim trip so we can wash & have ready for the next adventure.
  • The cost of field trips is covered by your daily tuition, however, there may be some field trips where you have the option to bring additional spending money or purchase additional items. We will notify you in our weekly email update when this is the case.
