History

Lingle Distributing was started in May of 1959 by Robert (Butch) Lingle Sr. when he bought a small beer distributor with 3 employees in Lewistown, Pa. The company represented Anheuser-Busch, F & S, Piels & Duquesne Brewery's covering Mifflin & Juniata Counties.

In 1966 he acquired the Genesee Brewing Company's Brands & aligned with Straub Brewery in 1999. His son Robert Jr., the current owner, joined the company in 1978.

The company grew & in the early 1980's needed more capacity & moved into their current location in 1982.

Today, after several expansions to their now 15,400 sq. ft. facility & with 11 employees Lingle's continues to service 55 retailers in Mifflin & Juniata Co's with A-B, Genesee, Piels & Straub Brewery Products.

Brand Building

Lingle's main function as a beer distributor is Building Brands for their supplier partners. Brand Building takes years of local commitment. Their brewing partners are not local & do not have personal connections, manpower or funds to build their brands at the local level. Their company provides local marketing in the form of advertising, merchandising, sampling, promotions, product rotation & placement, along with service to retailers to build brands for their Brewery Partners.

Community Involvement

Lingle purchases services & products from other local businesses such as gas, tires, trucks, forklifts, office & cleaning supplies, insurance, advertising & maintenance on their vehicles & their facility.

Lingle also helps with many community charities & organizations along with numerous fund raising drives & events. Folds of Honor, PA Cleanways, Rotary Int'l, MDA, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Huntingdon House, United Way, many Golf Tour., Numerous V.F.W.'s & American Legions.
