Mental Health & Psychosocial Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic
Like other population-level crises and disasters, the COVID-19 pandemic will have short- and long-term impacts on the mental health and psychosocial well-being of individuals and communities. However, Albertans have faced disaster before and shown great resilience.

We know that, in the midst of all the noise, leaders are looking for factual, evidence-informed guidance to assist them with their organizational recovery efforts. PolicyWise has worked with Alberta communities and experts in the field following recent natural disasters and has learned about community priorities for psychosocial supports and response.

Knowledge mobilization is at the heart of what we do. In that spirit, PolicyWise has developed a series of infographics to outline key lessons learned from research and Alberta's own experience with psychosocial response and recovery. These infographics are high level, if you'd like to discuss any of these in-depth please feel free to follow up. The infographics focus on the following topics:

Information for Albertans on the
psychosocial impacts of COVID-19 and what can contribute to positive growth and transformation following a crisis..
Overview of psychosocial
supports and services as well as lessons learned from Alberta communities about priorities for recovery.
Six core components that
cross sectors and levels (front line, municipal, and provincial) to enable a system-wide psychosocial response.
Six principles to guide
planning and implementation of a provincial psychosocial response to COVID-19.

If you would like to discuss any of these, or connect with PolicyWise staff or community partners, please email  [email protected].
